Good to know, @Daron Watson. In my mind, the reason this vintage showed so well, was due to the bottle age. 16’s would be a cellar purchase for me.

Dark cherry soy and animal notes brown spice black licorice 30-50year old vines the young vines first blend was 2006 at Chandon terrazas des Andes when Lvmh brought him over blind tasting of 2008 termanthia picked as #1 dark spices dark earth and smooth tannins and good freshness and balance this wine is drinking nicely but should age for a decade easily. Brown spices fresh fruit lovely new equipment in 2009 eavh grape is looked at 10 times tastes every day notes of soy 70% 2nd use barrel some leathery notes. Warm year a lot of learning grandfather wanted him to be a winemaker. Since 2004 more elegant 2006 and 2003 similar vimtages so Manuel went back to see what was done smaller tannins more astringent temp of fermentation decreased a bit to keep the smaller tannins limited. Production 7000 cases 90 % comes to USA

This Chilean Pinot Noir offers up a medium tint in the glass and a nose of earthy, smoky musk. The palate shows black and red fruit with spice and a bit of bramble. It’s more rustic than elegant, and that plays just fine. Acidity works well and the finish is medium length.

This had a lot going on and is still in its infancy: stewed prunes, mocha, soil, mushroom, blackberry jam, spice and whiff of camphor. Very tightly wound, rigid tannins - rather unyielding at this point. Felt the ABV on mid palate thru finish which was not cohesive at this time. Need to revisit in 5-7 yrs — 6 years ago
