So much more time to go though I think it’s starting to fire on all 12 cylinders! Fresh, full bodied yet sultry fruit cassis and yet still with the subtlety of a cat — 6 years ago
The 2014 Mouton Rothchild is a stunning wine that is already making its case for one of the wines of the vintage. Graphite, salted dark fruits, tar and mocha with a touch of red bell pepper all marvelously combine on the nose. Silky and marvelously textured, with an incredible complexity and viscosity, the wine shows wonderful brightness and a seamless quality that artfully dances across the mid-palate. Stunning and simply marvelous even at the five year mark, this is only an infant now and has decades of life to go. Try to resist this beauty for at least three more years. Great wine, if a port is to sweet, go with this full body, dark red wine, a hint of pepper, with a mix of Zinfandel, merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend. 2016 — 7 years ago
A long way to go to reach its full potential, but promising and enjoyable all the same — 8 years ago
Whitehall is my go to Merlot. Nice dark fruit with vanilla finish — 3 years ago
This is our new go to! — 4 years ago
Go to wine, but price is creeping up there from late 90s . Hope to find similar profiles at better value as 300 per bottle is about 7 times what I started purchasing it. — 6 years ago
The 2016 ‘Insignia’ is an absolutely incredible showing, and is amongst the most compelling vintages I have yet to taste from the Estate. Composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec which spent 24 months in 100% new french oak. As this unwinds in the glass it begins to release its seductive aromatics of ripe dark currants, crème de cassis and blueberries along with fresh violets, pencil shavings, wild sage brush and exotic spices. On the palate this is full-bodied, with a gorgeous rich, opulent texture that is beautifully balance by a lovely touch if underlying acidity keeping it fresh and inviting all the way through the long enveloping finish. Displaying a remarkable combination of both power and precision, the 2016 is a total stunner and will go on to have a marvelous future for many years to come. — 6 years ago
Taken from what was generally a tough vintage in the Northern Rhone, the 1997 ‘La Chapelle’ Hermitage is a striking rendition at more than twenty years of age. Bulls blood, iodine, red cherry puree and crushed mint flavors provide some serious refinement. Silky throughout, this will continue to evolve over the next five to ten years — but is marvelous right now. Drink 2019-2025- 93 — 7 years ago
Very good - go to Costco — 7 years ago
Big Tig fan. Hard to go wrong with this wine. Tannins are more subtle and it is more elegant. Usually young tignanello are straight forward super Tuscan powerhouses but this has a lot going on with cherry, spice , a little cedar with mineral at the end. — 8 years ago
Go with both fish and meat. Slightly fizzled and light initially and evolved to complex with depth. — 9 years ago
Way too young. Still pretty tough after a 5-6 he decant. There’s is a lot of structure here and the dark roasted fruit plays well with the other aromas / flavors like charcoal, pencil lead, and soil. Not my go-to style of wine, but decent with prime rib. — 4 years ago
2017. Decanted 4+ hours. Pains me to not give one of my favorite labels a 95+, but this hot vintage is simply missing the red fruit to go with all the rustic leather and barnyard funk that makes Pegau so unique. Rich but not sure fruit is going to come around. Discounted- $50 at Wine Library, elsewhere. — 5 years ago

I continue to go back to this wine as... its comfort Chardonnay. — 7 years ago
Justin is a flavorful cab with a delightful and surprising finish. Not too sweet. Justin would be my every day "go to" if it wasn't $23 a bottle — 9 years ago

45 min decant(decent chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable medium garnet color with bricking. On the nose: beautiful perfumed notes burst from the glass with sour cherry, mint, dusty earth, currants, wet cedar, green bell pepper....could sniff all night! Taste: soft and round, smooth, elegant wine with raspberry, cedar, currants, musky earth, and a nice dark chocolate cherry finish. YUM! A wine that has hit its stride over the past few years with time to go. — 3 years ago
