Vin de Savoie Apremont Jacquère 2017

Are you kidding me? Only $19. My only regret that I did not buy a case! No pesticides, true reflection of place. Wonderful minerality. Transport yourself to a cool mountain stream. Serve at 40-45°. A SommSelect choice. — 8 years ago

Dark plum color. Uninteresting nose. Plum flavors. Sweet, but not cloying. Light balanced tannins and acidity. Full flavor without being heavy. Very easy to drink. I really like this wine. — 13 years ago

Quartara Giffoni Valle Piana Colli di Salerno Fiano 2014

Nose is nutty. Palate is a bit more meursaulty than the 15 which was hermitage blanc/ top st peray blanc. Some stone fruits with rocking minerals. Great salinity. Finish is like licking the rocks in a mountain stream. So intense. Wow. Serious serious serious wine. This guy is rewriting the book for Italian white wine. Fass selections import. ... floral internal aromatics coming out after 45 minutes. Almost this ethereal quality. Holy crap. And it’s still holding back a bit. On the verge of magic. ... after an hour The nuttiness becomes more pronounced. More sherry like but still bright. I prefer this at 30-45 minutes at this point. Wow! What a ride ! — 8 years ago

Like drinking a cool, rocky stream. This is all mineral and refreshment, maybe a little softer than many, and certainly restrained on the fruit side. If you're looking for juicy gooseberries or acid cut, you've come to the wrong place. If you're looking for something clean and precise and palate awakening, you're home. — 8 years ago

Wifey spat her pacifier out for some reason, but I have assumed editorial liberties. In the glass, the wine is as black as me, but not as sexy 😏

The nose is dense and heavy with maple syrup and maraschino cherries. On the palette, it's velvety and compact, with layers of coffee, kirsch and finishes sweet. This is why I love Napa!

Château Cos d'Estournel

Les Pagodes de Cos Saint-Estéphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Château covers 170 acres separated from Château Lafite, along the southern edge, by a stream. A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon & 38% Merlot. Rich berry aromas with floral and spices, very pleasant. On the palate blueberry and wild berry flavors with licorice and toasty oak notes. Lingering rich finish on soft juicy tannins, drinking well and still has room to go. Very Nice second label! — 8 years ago

Enjoyed this wine with a dry aged Delmonico cooked on the grill, served with Hoppin' John, and zucchini and tomatoes from our garden. The intense berry fruit in this Cab and its moderate acidity and mild tannins were a great match for this menu. — 12 years ago
