We had the 2013 Vintage on 5/2-3/21. This was a terrific full bodied, well balanced wine. Tastes of blackberry, plum, kirsch and vanilla on the palate. The tannins were smoothed out. A great example of the Napa floor. — 5 years ago
Excellent! Noses well. Forward tasting. Slight tartness. Light finish, but smooth. Rutherford one of rare wineries in NAPA with a Pinot. This is 2012 vintage. — 7 years ago
2009 tasting beautifully. Perfect balance of fruit and light notes of chocolate and mineral. — 8 years ago
I know this is a mass produced winery, but this single vineyard wine is phenomenal. Had the '05 a few months ago and thought it was in a great spot. In-laws wanted to stop by while we were here, and they kindly poured us this '04. They are about to put the '04 vintage away for 10 years. Already in a great spot now, in 5 years, this will peak. Pepper, fresh earth, leather and boysenberry on the palate. One of the best '04s I've had. — 9 years ago

Wish I would've showed a little more self control and opened this guy in 2020. Darker side of fruit for most Napa Cab Francs that I run into and this wine was a little rough around the edges, which I welcomed because I sip on well behaved wines very frequently. Dark fruits and a solid sentencing of oak make this wine fall into the category of big, but not burly. Beyond is unique representation of the varietal, its a welcomed interpretation. — 12 years ago
One of the best Cabernets I’ve had in a while. Round and balanced. — 4 years ago
A gift from a special brother-in-law enjoyed with our last dinner of 2021. Very dark in the glass releasing smoked mango notes when nosed. A sip suggests cocoa-dusted dark cherries in velvet. It goes down easy but finish is long and lingering warm and pleasant. I really enjoyed this bottle of wine! — 5 years ago

Nicely balanced, very round on the palate. Great with spicy scallops. A truly enjoyable blending of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. — 7 years ago
2013 alpha omega- smells of cherries, a little sharp- definitely more bright than the opus. Just the right amount of fruit but not bold enough. Cherries flavor as well. 9.0 $35 — 8 years ago
Dark aged coloring, still has vibrancy, spicy noted through and through, vanilla. Long finish. Oak and alcohol are well balanced, reminiscent of cognac. Held nicely up to Mu Shu Pork dinner. — 10 years ago
1992. Would have been better 5 yrs ago but still very nice with dried more than fresh fruit (prune/raisin more than plum/ grape) but still a touch of tannin on first opening. Definite cedary Napa dust gives a bit of structure. — 12 years ago
Blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot, deep Ruby with aromas of red and black fruits with sweet spices. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry and black cherry, subtle spices, vanilla, cacao and oak. Good balance, generous acidity, rich grippy tannins, long finish ending with fruit, Cedar and spice. Will develop well for a decade. — 4 years ago
Deep purple without a hint of any other suggesting improper storage. Classic if a bit understated Napa nose. Soft yet appropriately firm tannins. Ripe black fruits. Luscious wine. Suggest drinking sooner rather than later owing to fruit ripeness. — 5 years ago
Super soft tannins representative of Rutherford. Almost overwhelmingly dark cherry. Relax and so does it. — 7 years ago

Really nice cherry fruit tinge of black olives deep fruit medium tannins vanilla — 8 years ago
I’d have this with dinner any night of the week. Red fruit and that cabernet smell on the nose. Blueberry to taste with chocolate & coffee/espresso + black cherry & a little bit of black pepper. Some reserved but grippy tannin on the backend. Roll on Napa. — 8 years ago

Staglin is one of my favorite wineries! This has lots of oak and leather on the nose. Hints of black fruit. Black berry and plum on the palate. Still needs a couple years to round out — 11 years ago

Open the bottle night and I pulled this one and it was a true gem. This wine gave no signs of being 22 years old - juicy fruit, freshness, complexity, and balance were still very much present. It gave off vibes of once being bold and in your face, but was now effortlessly stunning. It was a real treat to share this with others. Also my WOTN.
