Dark ruby; tar, spice, and brambly berries on the nose; black cherry, pepper, and smoke with lively acidity and depth; chewy tannins with a long lingering finish. Maturing already and one of the best from the producers, who have decamped to Bordeaux. — 2 years ago

Inky deep purple; leather, violets, red spice (?!), blueberry on the nose; notrs of dried black cherry, olive, cinnamon, lightlyvearthy; smooth, not showy, great balanced acidity and long dusty warm tannins. Finish gives a subtle warming spiciness with no tart bite. Overall, warm glowing attractive and down to earth. Had it with pan-grilled polenta, with carrots, red and poblano peppers, baby onions, and broccolini - middle Asian spices and a bit of homemade marinara — 10 months ago
