Excellent wine. Paired for Jon Snow. Described as "guarded, solemn, perceptive, brave, bitter, courageous." — 8 years ago
Never heard of this winery but wow. Impressed with this Syrah. Nice pepper and a hint of vanilla on the nose. Lovely. — 5 years ago
2014 Voir Dire. n. an oath taken by jurors to tell the truth. Crisp & clean. Hints of light tobacco and soft corinthian leather with a light fruit finish. Smooth and silky. Great with a hearty meal of slow cooked pot roast and earthy mushroom rice. 👍🏼 — 5 years ago
Robert Michel he is something of an institution when it comes to Cornas and its wines. Actually 2006 it's been his last vintage before retirement, even though he has continued to help and give advice to the young and gifted winemaker Guillaume Gilles. Cuvée des Coteaux here it comes from two parcels: Les Chaillots and Le Quartier de Renard. Michel used to make severe, uncompromised, traditionally austere and long-lived wines. Manual harvest, gentle fermentation with the entire stems, wine ageing in larger sized demi-muid cask. A pity that such a majestic vigneron doesn't make such one-shot wines any more. Though, what a patriarchal wine here we've got: power and delicacy at the same time in this 2006; purity, unsophisticated class is all I love in those kind of wines. Well, what else? Dionysus bless Michel and his solemn beverage in time and in eternity. — 8 years ago
So-five years in, the cherry pop has worn off & it’s a more solemn, damp earth, dark red fruits affair: tertiary flavors. I have to say In not crazy about drinking cru Beaujolais w age as it seems to defeat the purpose of Beaujolais— the vibrancy & bounce in the palate has moved on. That said, will keep trying. — 5 years ago
Unbelievable!
Reminds me of Don Maximiano, but much better.
Solid solemn nose, slightly acidic with deep notes.
Excellent pairing with the succulent Argentinian grill. Perfecto! — 7 years ago

Its # 5. A mix of 3 different Bourbons, a 13-year mahogany bourbon, un-apologetically peppery with shavings of dark chocolate. Two, an 11-year silky, wheated bourbon rich with vanilla and honey. And three, an 8-year find, finished in Caribbean rum barrels to impart orange, brown sugar and warm island spice. Every sip, an uncharted, sensory adventure. Blood Oath Pact 5 adds additional flavors with the Carribean Rum Cask Finish." — 4 years ago
