Holy water! Sooo good. Melon, vanilla, and pear. So well balanced. — 5 years ago

Now at the seven year mark, the 2013 Jamet Cote Rotie is absolutely singing in its unbridled elegance. Silky and soft upon entry, the 2013 Jamet shows a pillowy effect as this artfully glides across the mid-palate. The lighter Provencale herb and white pepper tones meld with ripe raspberry and Bing cherry flavors. Bright, showing an intense sense of verve and tension, the long finish truly satisfies. While delightful at this stage, the 2013 Jamet Cote Rotie will have another decade or more ahead of it. This is truly one of the wines of the vintage. Drink 2020-2033- 95 — 5 years ago
A full-body Pinot! Deep Ruby with berry aromas, floral and garden spice. On the palate ripe strawberry and dried cherry fruit with vanilla spice and cedar notes. The wine is well structured, silky smooth tannins, balanced acidity carry the wine to a lingering spicy finish. Very Nice! — 6 years ago

1993 mag - big bold and beautiful - one hour decant was needed and frighten when cork was cracked when pulling but man this big boy was singing
Now all that said - this wine was absolutely ready to be enjoyed - if sitting on this one better drink it
Color was darkest red and smell had it all with the taste of black fruits and the finish was not the longest but definitely satisfying

Beautiful wine for a fantastic aged ribeye. Earth, lavender, blackberry, opening up to red cherry and a nice finish. Silky tannins for a beautiful structure. The wine got better and better throughout the meal but was singing even at the open. — 4 years ago
Muscadet! Lovely straight sea water mineral lemon goodness. Had with some great oysters Christmas Eve. — 5 years ago
Refreshing as water. Salmon in color- classic Provence. Grapefruit and apple notes. Slight minerality. Smooth finish. Great grocery store option. In a blind tasting I would never guess this was a celeb wine — 5 years ago
This is outstanding. Even after 3+ hours in the decanter, it keeps evolving. Honey, candied citrus, flowers, ripe pineapple, white chocolate strawberry, dark chocolate orange, and apricot. Undercut by freshness throughout. This needs at least 30 min, preferably an hour in the decanter before enjoying. Utterly unique and in its own league. 6 years in barrel and another 6 in bottle before release and this is just singing. — 6 years ago
Nice golden hue, looks heavy and rich in the glass. Honeyed fragrant nose. Notes of sweet apricot, mango, lemon, white clay, tan spice, and stones. Nice intensity in the mouth, with gobs of fruit matched against acidity that built over the afternoon. Telltale aged Raveneau honey, exotic today but not over the top. I brought this and it was the best of the couple or so bottles of it that I've had. Was at its best with ~5 hours of air, and leftover was still singing the next morning. — 6 years ago
Initially backwards and sharp-edged after 90 mins and a warmup from cellar temp this was singing. Classic Sangiovese, sour cherry and dark chocolate. Asphalt. Elegant and feminine. The 15% Cabernets were nowhere to be seen, almost disappeared tannins suggest this should be drunk up soon, which is hardly punishment... — 5 years ago
Just, just... just wonderful.
Initially, I get quince and a slight licorice that isn’t overpowering. Peach, of course.
The intangible here is just the well rounded character of the whole thing. It’s hard to nail down, but it’s got this savory, sweet, umami, bitter, acid quality to it that just brings a sip to the very edge of paradise as a flavor, a taste, an experience.
I’m glad I went for the gold here. I love drinking the canned sake and the 300 mL bottles when I’m going solo, so I upped the ante a bit and went for the mid-tier higher selection and it paid off. — 5 years ago
09’ This is singing @Mike R Another wine from Mike- If this wasn’t the WOTN, it was damn close. Black fruits, black licorice, blackberry jam, floral notes, smokiness. This is a drop dead gorgeous wine. A very polished wine!! Especially from this vintage. There’s no need to hold onto this any longer. Drink them up in the next 10+ years. — 7 years ago

We love Islay malts in winter— Seattle reached 17° F today, so we reached for the Oog. Gorgeous bottling if a touch sweet for my palate. Threads the needle of smoky peat/malt styles very well. Best with a few drops of water to open up. — 4 years ago
