A really well balanced and elegant Chard. I loved it, Kylah is not sure and wants to revisit it. Talk about a classic, perfect Cali Chard. This has everything. It is not a big bully throwing sawdust and vanilla sticks at your head. It's soft, sophisticated, and delish. — 9 years ago
Lemon curd, golden yellow apple, brown pear, peanut shells, sawdust, saline, marcona almond, sea breeze. Rounded acidity, creamy/Sur lie texture, medium bodied, long citrus pulp/herbal finish. Felt like a Meursault meets Savennieres. Outstanding! — 9 years ago
Cherry cola, moderate acid, bit of blackberry, bit of oak taste, and a very faint fresh alcohol aroma similar to opening a paint bucket and sawdust — 9 years ago
On the eyes: Clear and bright with a deep garnet color with light shades of brown. Medium viscosity with no gas build up or sediment.
On the nose: High alcohol, nail polish remover, and sawdust that finishes with raw tobacco and warm molasses.
On the tongue: Medium acidity, medium tannin, Sour Bing cherry, and oak. Finishes with Red Pear skin and brown sugar.
Really great but not super complex. Would pair well with Prime Rib or grilled Portobellos. — 9 years ago
Sawdust and drywall on the nose. Also industrial steel beam. Spice as well. Black pepper subtleties. Vanilla oak and dill on the palate. Fine tannins. — 11 years ago
Blackberry jam, violets, sawdust, red licorice, brown butter, burnt sugar. Smooth and silky, incredibly long finish — 11 years ago
Dark cassis, red florals and milk chocolate on the nose. Blackberries, dark cherries, cooked strawberries, creamed raspberries, dry cranberries, sawdust, spice, tea, some cola, the high tannins are resolving, lower acid, juicy fruits make for an enjoyable finish. Great value wine for a 2009. Drinks well now and for the next 10 plus years. Made by The technical team at Lynch Bages. — 8 years ago
Dandelion, peaches, sweat, Dial soap, sawdust. Keeps on opening up... 20 minutes later and the expression is huge. — 9 years ago
Heavy hitting cab franc. Intense aromas - fruit, sawdust, spice - explodes from the glass. Rich, concentrated flavored of mixed berries, tea and more spice. Mountain fruit all the way to the core but surprising finesse. Bravo! — 9 years ago
Dried plums, figs, mushrooms, leather, gunpowder, sawdust, coffee, cinder, iron, graphite, cassis, bell pepper, pottery soil. Rounded acidity/silky tannin balance, lush silky texture, medium bodied, extremely long smoky/dusty/earthy finish. Highly evolved in glass. Decanting not necessary. — 9 years ago
Dried blackberries and blueberries with these hints of sawdust and smoky minerality. Nice supple spice. And light body. Nice and made to be served with a slight chill. — 10 years ago
Delicious. Wonderful with cherry, sawdust, leather and nice dry finish with medium tannins. — 11 years ago
aromas are smokey, earthy minerality, funk, black cherry, cedar sawdust, tart cranberry, cinnamon...the palate shows wood, earth, faint unripe red cherry, some crunchy red apple....nice acidity and faint licorice and tannins on finish.

2008 vintage. Fruit is at a great crossroads of fresh and youthful and more mature and nuanced. Very red fruit with raspberry, cranberry, tart red cherry, dried violet, dried mint, sage, autumn leaves, pencil lead, little sawdust. Very elegant expression of Zinfandel. — 9 years ago
Dark fruit, sawdust, and graphite. Stellar bottle from a great vintage. — 9 years ago
Dark, warm, carressing wine. Images of campfire, hot chestnuts, roasted meats and melting chocolate appear. Cinnamon and sawdust. Primary fruit is browning, vanishing now, only dates and dried figs and prunes remain. Very good wine, very modern and concentrated. It's time to drink up! — 9 years ago
Next to Fat head Ipa, this is the second best ipa I've ever had. — 10 years ago
The duke of burgers. Fat hacking acidity and smoky tannins. Almost meaty, but closer to ketchup with elderberries, fresh cut sawdust, and spicy herbs — 12 years ago
