I generally enjoy a super Tuscan, but this one was a bit too "dirty" for my tastes. The nose displays nice black and purple fruits with a touch of vegetation, pencil box and wet clay. The palette, unfortunately, starts and finishes dirty (aka too earthy). You get rich black fruits in the middle, but they're a bit fleeting. Not terrible, but not really what I had hoped for either.

aromas of sawdust, earth, black cherries, candied plums....tasting brings sweet red cherries, wood, earth, ripe black plums, blackberries... big and rich. could be California rather than Tuscany. nice sliver of acid running throughout. great value.

V09. Don't know why I still had this. Decant min 60 min. Muted tight cedar bouquet. Soft, round ' peppery, blackberry and toast fruit. Would make a great pasta and pizza wine. Wish I had more.
