Saw that @Shawn R was doing it...#peerpressure
Very enjoyable rosé by @Mike Smith . Pairs nicely with 75degree TX spring days and burgers on the grill. Watermelon rind and kiwi on the nose. Strawberry-lime on the palate. Refreshing acidity. 👌 — 8 years ago

This becklyn is tasting the best right now. Soft, rich fruit, chocolate. Delicious. The quivet, despite being the least fruit forward of the 4, is also hitting the spot. It’s a good wine to open when you are sharing with people that have a more classic cab taste. The myriad napa is the most tannic of the 4, but it is dark and jam packed with power. It’ll be phenomenal with some air or age. Probably the most potential. The scarlett is the reddest fruit of the 4. Like the myriad, I think it will really shine with some air/age. All great. — 6 years ago
Outstanding! Used a repour and loved it even more later at room temperature. — 7 years ago
YES! 2h of decant and it starts to show its potential. Will revisit year from now. — 8 years ago
JFK is someone I greatly admire, along with Churchill, MLK and Margaret Thatcher. Nice to learn a little more about him, while drinking a 2010 Bdx stunner.
Frankly, this is a Napa clone. Lovely notes of barrel toast, sandalwood, truffle and maraschino cherries, which drift onto the palette. Excellent poise and tannic structure. This wine may very well out-live me. For those of you that enjoy the texture and sweetness of Napa blends, give this a try...
For those of us that like to snoop around, on that middle shelf in the background is: Haut Brion, Harlan, Lafite, Scarlett reserve, Realm and Grange. If you are ever in the NY/NY area, come get some love. Let's see some other pics with organ extensions, please 😃 — 8 years ago
Shockingly good can of sparkling red wine. River approved. — 7 years ago
Another great last minute gathering at the storage facility!
My first time having a wine from Kenefick Ranch vineyard. I know Mike Smith has utilized this vineyard for Scarlett and maybe another label. Killer black fruits and a soft, plush, plummy finish. Not harsh in any way. Full bodied and doing well with a decant. — 8 years ago

The highlight of the day, and maybe of the trip, was a personal tasting with @Mike Smith , winemaker of Myriad, Carter, Becklyn, Scarlett, Ancillary and many other well known labels. Mike was kind enough to pour some of his personal label (Myriad Cellars), a Pinot from Ancillary (project he does with Mark Carter) and capped off the tasting with some Carter Cellars. The Myriad Dr Crane Elysian and Carter Weitz Vineyards were standouts of the trip so far. The Weitz Vineyard had great power and energy to it. Like Mike said, he loves making super dark wines...most were almost black in the glass. Love those kinds of wines! Charcoal, blackberry, plum on the nose and palate. Difference between this and the Dr Crane Elysian was the Elysian felt more fruit forward and in your face. Loved the restraint on this. Mike, thanks again for an amazing wine tasting! And @Martin G Rivard , thank you for connecting me with Mike! @Shawn R , good call on having Carter added to our tasting...thanks! — 8 years ago
