I Vigneri/Salvo Foti's take on Salina - Malvasia and Carricante -90/10 - give this unique white and great off-dry, salty, minerally character #qprAeolians — 9 years ago
Delightful savoury opening salvo; settles, segues to a smooth flavoursome palate. — 10 years ago
Clean bouquet and opening salvo of flavor => develops gradually into softer honey and then minerality softened by a vegetal afternote-- wood? Or nuts? Very faint at end. Light, but good medium length linger. Wouldpair well with fish & lighter foods — 10 years ago
Salvo Foti. Had a much easier time finding this in NYC than I did in Sicily. — 11 years ago
Funky but solid! Really fun to drink. — 7 years ago
Strong blackcherry notes make this a worthy opening salvo in Babbo's 2001 Barolo Revisited. — 8 years ago
— 9 years ago

Amazing. Fruity bold and smooth finish. — 9 years ago
Rootin' tootin' straight shootin' IPA. Nothing fancy (in a good way) but the lagering (not sure if that's a real word) adds a really nice bit of mellowness. It also prevents an overly fruity finish. Which, had I thought about it, I could have rhymed with the whole rootin' tootin' opening salvo. Oddly enough, I scarfed this down as a complement to a bowl of Tikka Masala. — 9 years ago
Joe Goddard bought a bunch of wine for my birthday and we drank it on the bus. Absolutely did not need to have anything more after that initial salvo but bowing to his greater wisdom I accepted a few plastic cups of this shochu which was very nice from what I remember. Joe may have misjudged his own prescription however as there were some rumours of "bunk sickness", so far unconfirmed. As Paracelsus would say, "the poison is the dose". — 10 years ago
Tasting with Salvo Tomasi (who I once met as my tour guide in COS Vittoria, Sicily); at #gamberorossoworldtour in Sydney Town Hall; here he represents #veneto with Cantina Negrar San Rocco 2008 bottling, single vineyard Amarone della Valpolicella; and heavily represented at this tasting; — 10 years ago

— 7 years ago
