Ryan Vineyard Pinot Noir

Delicious, great balance and nice structure. Could be mistaken for a nice burgundy. Great balance of earthy and fruity notes. Would probably be better after more time. Also tried the 2022 which was good but too young — 4 months ago

Crazy Mary Mourvedre 2013

Wow! Still bright, chalky, and full of youthful grip. Red plum, raspberry, lichee and white pepper notes are most dominant. This could easily go another few years and not be at its peak. — 5 years ago

Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

I read an article recently where the author felt that this 1er cru probably deserved to be a Grand Cru. Whilst this was very good I think it is right at Premier Cru. Initial notes were salinity amongst the apple, citrus flavours and a touch of beeswax. The following night tasted more “new World “. This was very enjoyable but needs to develop more complexity. I will leave my remaining bottle for a couple of years. — 5 months ago

"Thunder Mountain" tastes like Grand Cru in the right hands. The priciest of the 1er Crus but more affordable than Grand Cru stuff, it occupies the sweet spot as it relates to QPR.

@Bob McDonald , I can state that the Raveneau MdT Chablis I’ve had from the 1980s were certainly of Grand Cru quality!

Montmains Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Well-known #chablis producer. Characteristic lemon, white fruit nose. More concentrated palate with length and some interesting spicy notes to finish from the partial oak aging. Lovely wine. — 6 months ago

Gippsland Pinot Noir 2021

Currently about 5 hours east of Melbourne in east Gippsland tasting this brilliant William Downie Pinot Noir. See several previous Delectable notes from earlier vintages. This wine manages to combine light to medium weight with medium plus intensity. Red fruited with Sous Bois. Downie is a gifted winemaker working in an excellent terroir for Pinot Noir. Would like to have more access to his wines up in Queensland. — 2 years ago

I think this might be my favorite Fevre wine, even more Les Clos and Preuses. Distinctly Chablis, but I get some stone fruit and honeysuckle. So good — 6 months ago
