Moores 2017. $19. — 6 years ago
Tasted from bottle with Roberto Conterno. Nice to compare the wine in Zalto glass vs the Zwiesel Glass that was designed to the wishes of Roberto Conterno.
This Monfortino is very structured, multi-layered and rich. High phenolic ripeness. Lots of nuances. And the good thing is that there are 20000 bottles, 3000 magnums and 500 double magnums. 98-100 — 7 years ago
Bodega Mendel is a boutique winery with an incredible story. Combination of 1928 Argentinian Malbec vines and other Bordeaux varietals provide a combination of sophisticated structure with enough complexity to keep the palate engaged. My favourite wine from Mendel. — 7 years ago

Mature and Delish. While watching Ducks football game. I regret I could not take it to Tim Shimmel's birthday party! — 11 years ago
The Voerzio Capalot/Brunate 01 (mag) was the third WOTN for me. A perfect Voerzio expression. Hell of a nose and intensity/concentration. Much fresher and more vivid than a 09 I had last weekend. 01 seems to rock here again. Bright red stone fruit, dark roses and flowers, coffee bean, some mocha, tarry irony minerals. You kinda feel the old vines here. Wow. — 7 years ago
Excellent Nebbiolo - great bouquet - had it with Ferruccio in Alba — 7 years ago
2009 has made a wine that is more accessible now, feel free to open it up but make sure to give it plenty of air. The nose is generous, tar, roses, sappy red fruits and licorice, savory for sure. The palate is a little less generous and firm, but unlike 2010, more enjoyable now.

2012 badia a coltibuobo estate chianti classico. Extremely pretty. "We've identified 170 grape varieties in the old chianti blends. " if you ever get a chance you hang with Roberto do it! Conversation topics he's enlightening on include biodynamic farming, sangiovese clonal selection history, chianti subzone terrior, the Milan concert seen of the early 70's, the velvet underground, hitchhiking the American west safely and efficiently, Fela Kuti, southern Oregon communes, biodiversity in vineyards, macro economic theory and sangiovese as a soil amplifier. Roberto speaks softly and carries a massive wit. #greatpeopleofwine — 10 years ago

Made in collaboration with Roberto Conterno (Giacomo Conterno). Light, spicy.... tastes nothing like his Barolo if you were hoping it would 😂. — 6 years ago
