Smooth but tannic Nebbiolo at Old Vines in Kennebunk, Maine — 8 years ago
Dark cherry with black licorice; no hard edges; full in the mouthful and a long finish. Delicious — 8 years ago
Round tart no tannins great with chicken — 10 years ago
Dark Inky in color with a deep purple rim. This Petite Syrah is not showing age at all.
Fruity nose with oak, cola, vanilla, licorice, cherries, blackberries, figs, alcohol, raisins, peppercorn, leather, spices, mint, coffee chocolates and smoke.
Full-bodied and bold, yet elegant and smooth, with medium plus acidity and gorgeous legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate, with blackberries, figs, cooked plums, sweet cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, light cloves, coffee, bitter herbs, light vegetables and lots of peppercorn.
Long finish with firm and round tannins, and black pepper.
This 10 year old Petite Sirah, is very fruit forward and complex, with many layers, and nicely balanced. Needs three hours to fully open up.
Would probably be just as good in the next three years. Good by itself and would definitely be awesome with a big piece of steak on the grill.
I paired it with light appetizers and Cheeses, and with some nice weather by the pool.
100% Petite Sirah. 63% from Lake County and 37% from Napa Valley.
15.5 % alcohol by volume. — 10 years ago
One of their best vintages, at 8 years old it's outdoing the 2012 and 2010. — 11 years ago
Delish. Jammy. Heavy. Dark — 11 years ago
Really good and light. With scallop course — 12 years ago
Didn't get the spiel on this one -- seemed slightly leesy but dunno if that's the case — 12 years ago
Nice wine for $13. A little more age would probably make this a 9.0. A couple days in the fridge made it better — 9 years ago
Really good semi dry wine, there is a little sweetness with banana flavor. Very good wine overall. — 10 years ago
Very nice con food... Butterynuttyish, lengua back en las eskinas — 10 years ago
First barbaresco. Highly recommended from wine stone on route 9. — 11 years ago
Wild strawberry, bright cherry and tons of minerals. A touch out of balance with the abv. This needs time to coalesce. But not long. — 12 years ago
Beautiful nose, nice finish. — 12 years ago
Wine from Laurie Gallo — 13 years ago
Solid Italian red, good day 1 and day 2. Will buy again. — 7 years ago
Lago Ranco Riesling 2017
Young with lots of primary aromas of green fruit (apple, lime) and a slight peach aroma.
Mix in a wiff of plastic (think clare valley) some sea salty-minerality a crisp, young acidity dosed with a very slight sweetness makes this an excellent companion to food (anyone for ceviche?).
Very young, but still enjoyable now. — 7 years ago
Frohman and Rod — 9 years ago
Flavors of ripe cherry, leather, plenty of tannins and good finish. Tried it with some chocolate, was actually pretty good. — 10 years ago
Excellent! With or without food! — 10 years ago
Old world taste for this still relatively young wine — 11 years ago
We let this 2008 decant for a couple of hours and it was very smooth. Soft tannins with rich fruit. Great with Dinner! — 11 years ago
Like summer and buzzing bees... — 11 years ago
Yum! This is the 4th bottle of this wine I have purchased. It's my couch sitting go to, smooth and a little complex. This is a red I would suggest to a Pinot lover looking for something a little more deep and complex. — 12 years ago
Schiava Bischofleiten! My fave red glass pour at work right now. — 12 years ago
Loved this. — 14 years ago
