Tonight I found out why a white burgundy is so special. This is a 7 year old that is the most spectacular white wine I have enjoyed so far. Amazing citrus cranks up the incredible vibrant acidity to race toward a mineral laced crushed stone lengthy finish. My gratitude to this beautiful expression of what can be produced from a grape. — 8 years ago
Fun and yummy Chardonnay!!!!! — 8 years ago
GL Burg Parent tasting 2/8/17. Very masculine and firm and strong in structure and powerful. Long finish and strong notes of stones earth and dark red fruit. All 3 1er Pommard made exactly the same way. Interesting. Argillieres lightest and elegant. Like a race car. Chaponnieres like an Aston Martin. This like a Porche. — 8 years ago
Good to the last drop - this is a new one for me and I am a believer - decanted for two hours and starting early today - love the dark fruit - the nose draws you in - incredible - the finish is like seeing Usain Bolt in the 100 meters at regular speed but in your mind you enjoyed every step of the race - that good - the taste just swirls and swirls like good kind of merry go rounds you enjoy and wish never stop - man this is what Napa is all about - bravo - love to 😀😃😎 — 9 years ago

Classic Chablis. Powerful mineral and saline character envelops rich citrus fruit. — 7 years ago
Elegant nose. Well balanced. — 7 years ago
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, racy and explosive to the core. An exotic tapestry of plums, sweet black cherries, smoke, bittersweet chocolate, licorice and dark spices race across the palate. Ample and intense, the 2012 has more than enough depth to fill its broad-shouldered frame... — 8 years ago
Dig this hard. Aromas of a race track and blackberry and raspberry liquer. Slightly less weighty than remembered with still notable tannin. Loire franc killin it. — 9 years ago
Chopper has a race tomorrow. Drinking alone... Love dolcetto. This one has some spice to it, which is interesting. Dolcetto is usually so soft and accomodating. Yeah. Sour cherries. Touch of rhubarb. Little but of Pall Mall, or maybe a Lucky. — 10 years ago

Lightning struck eucalyptus bark - what a nose!
Licorice, mint, basil. Tar, tobacco, burnt barrel. This is a wine that will always calm my pre race jitters. The vintage was amazing.
Salted boysenberry popsicle sticks end this wine with a long, long lasting finish. — 7 years ago
@Shay Aldriedge My 1st Aonair Grenache that i was lucky enough to enjoy thanks to my bud Shay! My 1st bottle was corked and he was kind enough to send me a 2nd!! You are insane my friend! This one was firing on all cylinders and definitely game to drag race Grenache! I agree spot on with Shay’s previous post., definitely a Syrah nose and Grenache on the palate. Smoked bacon., cedar, a touch of spice and dark fruit. I dig it! I decanted for approximately 2 1/2 minutes prior to enjoying the 1st sip! I could smell the nose from arms length and could not resist. I’m guessing this will develop well over the next 1 hour. I love seeing the progression which is why I dove right into it. Thanks bud!! 👏👏👏👏👍👍👏👏👏. I have a few beauties heading your way tomorrow. — 8 years ago
Olive pips, brioche, pomelo, tangerine pith and lemon custard nose with a circus peanut candy whiff. Briny lemon entry that eases into candied peel, olive notes echo the scents, and a hard race to a very lemon and caper fulfillment that shimmers with crystalline citrus nectars. Far from moribund, this one scores big where other '05s have given up the ghost! That's the spirit! #champagne bubbles #frenchsparklingwine — 9 years ago
4th wine of the night!
Tonight's a marathon and not a race! Such an opulent Cabernet. Provided. Y our good friends @Kirk Alexander . Drank like a million bucks and I love the winery owners Bill & Alicia Deem. Their Katrina Cuvee is Awesome as well. It's a wine not often seen in delectable. It an opulent beast! — 9 years ago
Motorsports driver Scott Pruitt
turned wine maker. Served his wine at Rolex 24 at Daytona last night and is driving in the race today. Loved his Syrah. Rooting for him this weekend!!! — 9 years ago
Smells like a race horse this one, smoky, sadle leather, very light tough of brett with some very broody Danson fruit, wood smoke, Chinese spice. Well evolved palate with plush blue and black fruit and powdery tannins. Really drinking very well at the mo. — 10 years ago
Pinot | Gamay | Chard - not common for mixed race blends in burgundy, but this one ranks superior to the others I have previously experienced. High toned, soft flower components and a lingering sapidity. — 10 years ago

The 2014 Pichon Lalande has the edge over Pichon Baron a few months ago. It is a tight race but here Pichon Lalande edges it. It has a wonderful, complex, intense bouquet with blackberry, briary, graphite and mint – just a straight-down-the-line Pauillac with all the aristocratic flair you look for. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, layers of pure black fruit laced with graphite and mint. It is blessed with a satin-like texture, not a hair out of place from start to finish, with a long, persistent aftertaste that completes a fabulous wine for the vintage. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2018) — 7 years ago
