@Mike R @David L @Joe Lucca @Ron R @Paul T The WOTN was a beauty so generously given to me by my Bud Paul Treadway! Thanks Paul!!! The tasting notes between the Beau Vigne Estate and Morlet's Coeur de Vallee are eerily similar. The true differentiation between the 2 is Morlet's seem less integration at this time. My buddy Kirk @Kirk Alexander always says "The test of a great wine is when nothing jumps out at you". This particular bottle did just that. Every person this evening commented on the fact that it was such a superbly balanced wine. It was dialed back ever so slightly in all the right spots for it to dance on your palate effortlessly.
Thank you Paul for a stellar bottle!!
It was enjoyed by friends outdoors on this beautiful S FL cool night. What else could one ask for?

@Carl Fischer @Mike Rowe @David L @Ron R @Ron R as Mike would say, smiles, all smiles. Such opulence and fitness with globs of the layers upon layers. Everything is harmoniously In sync. The only drawback is it's youth!!!
Thank God I have 9 left and some magnums!! I know it's a baby, but I'm still drinking it with a big shit eating grin on my face. — 8 years ago
I really like this champagne. Crisp, fresh, certain aroma but not too rich. Good for matching with dishes. Not destruct the foods. Want to drink this as daily champagne. — 11 years ago

My 1st granddaughter!! Celebrating a beautiful night outside with this 2nd terrific bottle of 11 Realm Beckstoffer To Kalon. Whoever said 11 was an off year was 100% wrong. This bottle is drinking superbly and is absolutely amazing.

This is a good wine with ripe fruit, flowers and a BEAUTIFUL NOSE. Well done for $20 bucks. I'm so glad Patrick Chapman (Screaming Eagle) has landed here. Call him and stock up now for spring. This one doesn't disappoint. @Paul T @Ron R @Jacqueline @Bill Bender @Jim Trobaugh @Eric Shanks @David L @TheSkip @Jade Moore @Warren Sapp — 8 years ago
Simple day one , picked up a lot of complexity day two. — 9 years ago
Magnum 1997 Dal Forno Romano Amarone dell Valpolicella. Drank at Reddwood lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. Third of the red lineup. Neither K nor I had tasted this before and it was delicious. Enormous and inky. It was just massive both in flavor and how it coated the mouth. Slight sweetness. Very cool to try! — 9 years ago
Fantastic cuvée. Citrus, minerals and toast. Everything you want in a Champagne. — 11 years ago
So I believe this Sunshine Vineyard is from the Wappo Hill portion of the Hartwell Estate......sorry now this portion belongs to the Realm Cellars estate. (Moonracer) Highly recommend checking out if you find it @Carl Fischer @Shay Aldriedge @Ron R @Martin G Rivard @David L @Isaac Pirolo @Roman Sukley @Paul T
Medium to deep garnet red with bricking on the edges. Stinky and savory on the nose straight from the get go. Opened up over the next half hour or so with stoney notes, a touch smoky and soft red cherries. Well integrated and smooth, moderate tannins (6/10). Beautiful aged characteristics on the palate with notes of dusty black cherries, a touch of chalk and dust, mushrooms, truffles, and also gains some aged red cherries. Medium plus body with a super long finish. This bottle has aged very well. Drink now if you like power in your Cabernet but this will keep for few more years. Drink till 2020. — 8 years ago
@Ron R @Mike R @David L @Howard Greenfield @Kirk Alexander @Joe Lucca @Carl Fischer @Paul T @Bill Bender @Ted Mandes @Jim Trobaugh @Monica O @Terri Walker @Steve Colanero My amazing friend Steve Colanero is a retired chef. We enjoyed an amazing dinner in his home this evening and opened these 2 beauties. Becklyn Reserve and a private propriety blend called "M" by Ted Mandes.
I opened and reviewed the Becklyn Reserve last night as well. You all know how I felt about it. Extremely solid and I rated accordingly. My opinion hasn't changed. It's an awesome wine. Thanks again David for introducing me to this Beauty!! — 8 years ago
One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.
Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!
So, to my friends, do you remember your first wine on here? Was it anything memorable? @philip Angino @Martin A. Pre-NYE bubbles. This is terrific. Peach, some vanilla and raspberry. Delicate but not too soft. Still some substance. I wish all of my Delectable friends a happy and healthy New Year. Magnum 1998 Cheval Blanc. Third red for dinner at the house w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H and BP. Awesome! So much fun to try this Bordeaux after the 2002 Domaine des Lambrays burgundy. This wine felt young, even though older than the Lambrays. A bit tight at first, despite decanting a few hours. Fun contrast of round vegetal and green noted, stronger tannins. Such a treat. Probably the fave of the night. — 9 years ago

@Ron R @David L Thanks for taking this Pic Ron!!! The 90 was tight out of the bottle. The 04 was showing significantly better. Obviously, these aren't meant to be pop & pours. I found the 04 plateauing and to 90. Onto yes to evolve in the glass. I think this bottle has40+ years left in it. It's that good. I prefer Richebourg in comparison of DRC burgs but this was a Rockstar nonetheless. Such purity and Elegance prancing on your palate with a finish that lingered for minutes. I've been saving this bottle for a special occasion and last nights Wine Nerd Herd event fit the bill! 😍👏👏👏👏👏😍. Spectacular wine. The only thing better were the friends at our table. — 8 years ago
