Vitamin goodness. Young and fun — 4 years ago
This wine is revelatory. I have not had a Beaujolais that has aged so well or taken on such a unique character. The intense, ripe, tangy Gamay fruit is there, but is both mellowed a bit and conversely is very intense. Also, of course, loads of crushed granite. In the mouth, it has more of a Bordeaux or Burgundy mouthfeel, not hard crunchy Beaujolais. Great acidity and length. Wonderful purity. — 5 years ago
Soaring nose of clean minerals, alpine spice and the sound of music. Stunningly pure, deep and refined. Shouts and whispers. What I love about '15. Palate is hyper balanced and just dazzling. Wow. Only open 5 minutes and this is an insanely structured and dense ja ja. So clean. Such purity. Blows away 14. 15 is so special in the Savoie, especially Chignin. The balance is uncanny here. — 7 years ago
First Dönnhoff! A truly electric, crystal-clear Riesling and very much to my preferences with German Riesling, I definitely need to explore the Dönnhoff line of wines further. Very precise, with laserlike acidity with great purity of fruit. Ripe nectarine, green apple, and pineapple, great wet slate minerality, apple blossom, jasmine, a slight waxy honeyed character, and a tiny bit of that classic petrol character, which is very muted and subtle right now but it'll probably come out with a few years in bottle. Body is medium; fuller than most other Kabinetts I've tried. Even with the slightly fuller body, that lovely acidity keeps it so fresh and nimble, and counterbalances what is IMO, the perfect amount of RS for a Kabinett style, it's perfectly off dry, with noticeable sweetness but it still finishes clean and fresh. Just some delicious juice. — 8 years ago
Super floral, mineral, peach pit, silky and sexy but still mineral power and punch. Lovely purity. — 9 years ago
Needs maybe 24 hours open but when it does. Great freshness and purity. Big fruit, skoche of oak. Lovely. — 10 years ago
With 2018 CC has gone to another level. A vintage I prefer to 2014 and 2017. More depth. More harmony. Gorgeous nose. Lemon oil. Lemon pith, stunning spice and deep penetrating minerality. Hint of green Apple and tons of wet earth. Just a slamming nose. New nuances approach every 10 minutes. Beguiling and dizzying. Palate is so refined, fresh and sleek. So nimble, mineral and racy. Amazing palate presence and near perfect focus. Ripe and so juicy but with a very serious and very intense mineral attack and then lemon and lime gumdrops. Perfect balance and jaw dropping purity. Infinite finesse. So focused and lean yet this is like a laser on the palate. Amazing texture and a sense of tactile mineralic sweetness. Awesome mid palate and stunning dissipating finish. Awesome inner mouth aromas and super salty finish. Lingers and lingers. A masterpiece. — 4 years ago
Dark, brooding, mysterious, beautiful nose. Dark mashed flowers, dark berries, gorgeous minerality, smells limestoney, amazing details and precision to this nose. Just gorgeous and so deep. Rich, ripe and wow levels of purity with an engaging limestone sweetness accented with deep pure sweet berries. So well made and refined. But so deep and so much more to say. This is so greet. Structure and so classic. Such a long finish. Dynamite. — 5 years ago
Oak Stone vineyard, Syrah — 6 years ago
With a one hour decant the wine is classic! Aromas of smoked meat, dark fruits, a slight green olive long finish it is a beautifully balanced wine giving a lot of pleasure! Drunk slowly over two hours post decant. The purity and freshness is simply amazing! The second hour post decant the wine continued to unveil more complexity... — 6 years ago
The nose was gorgeous, displaying sour cherry, plum, roses and violets, dusty spice, and hints of floral undergrowth. On the palate, I found soft, lifted textures with amazing purity to it’s ripe strawberry and cherry fruits, along with inner floral tones and hints of spice. The finish was long yet fresh with medium-grained fine tannin, dried strawberry and inner rose tones. This may not be a vintage to age for decades, it’s so beautiful already, the hard part will be saving them long enough to watch them mature. #collisioni17 — 7 years ago
If there were ever an archetypical Syrah, Jamet's Cote-Rotie would be a strong candidate. To me this is a pure expression of a classic Northern Rhone Syrah. It is not a single site, but a blend of terroirs, encompassing over 20 sites mostly from hard rock schist bedrock with little to no topsoil. There is NO Viognier in this wine like one might expect from most Cote-Rotie that might have 1-5% co-fermented.
Importantly, there is also a lot less of the oak character that can dominate and overwhelm many Northern Rhone wines. The oak maturation, while not short at 22 months, only uses 15% new oak with no trace of it on the palate as it is perfectly integrated. Grape bunches are whole cluster fermented and macerated for up to 3 weeks.
The 2007 we have here was drinking superbly for a young wine, showing lively and racy layers of peppercorn spice, roast beef, and warm blackberry and currant fruit from the hot 2007 vintage. While from a warm vintage, not a hair is out of place. Density and purity exude from the nose and hint at what a brilliant future this wine has. Perfect acidity and fleshy ripe tannin provide the backbone structure for father time to peel back the layers of this beauty. I will be chceking back in 5 years at the earliest. — 7 years ago
A wonderful vintage, crisp and dense at the same time. A wonderful contrast between concentration and purity. — 9 years ago
Wow. Clape Cornas deserves your praise and applause. Such purity. Blackberry, blueberry, olives, herbs. Serious — 11 years ago
Glorious nose. I love this 1er Cru. Red or white. Gorgeous cherry fruit, licorice and spice. Alluring mineral. Floral. Beguiling and hypnotizing nose. Juicy and also structured and tannic with exquisite balance and purity. 17 is so good and correct. Red fruits galore and superb depth. Earthy sweetness and wonderful hint of that Monthelie earthiness. Love sap and length. Just an awesome wine.
With air nose comes alive! Wow. Sour cherry and insane cherry spice complexity. Perfumed. This is so good. Stunning sappy and sweet fruit. — 4 years ago
One of true great secrets of the wine world. 70% Chardonnay and 30% Tressallier. Nothing like it. Energy for days. Beautiful pillow like aromas. Candied but so barely it’s remarkable. Hint of confectionary. Stoney, so floral. Haunting. Just ridiculous. This is the best bottle of this wine I’ve had so far. There is such a purity to the aromas which are so unique because Tressallier is such a freaky grape. But it’s a fine aroma. Amazing palate. Such depth, density and acidity and a taught structure. The energy and intensity is incredible. So long, so mineral. Outrageous. This would compete in a line up of Meursault Perrieres. Structure to burn and a bright future. This will be best in 7 years I think. This is built like a brick house. — 4 years ago
Wow. More notes later.
Mushroom, tar, roses, cherry fruit, mineral and so so aromatic. Really gets in the deep nostril areas. Juicy and so so complex with wonderful purity and big tannins. Finish is a hint of licorice and a swarm of cherries. This needs 3-5 years but seems to really be a another winner at this estate. — 5 years ago
Excellent. Great structure. Juicy with dark fruit. — 7 years ago
2008. Half bottle. Gorgeous primary nose of bright cherries, currants, soil. Great purity on the palate, grippy ripe tannins. Love this vintage but needs some time. — 8 years ago
The clos des papes was so pristine and pure, no wood, but it was massive in the mouth and very finessed at once, bursting with baskets of cherry raspberry and blackberry in dried thyme and wet rocks, couldn't smell alcohol at all and fruit smelled so pure, palate was mega concentrated with a herb and mineral finish, and waves of fresh fruit, felt the alcohol 15.5%!! A bit in the back end, Tannins were very fine and regal, no astringency at all but plenty of grip. A blockbuster but still carried itself with freshness, balance and purity, a fantastic wine that shouldnt be touched for at least 5 more years and for sure will age well for another 15-20. A relative value at $119, and very burgundian in its purity and lacey texture. 2011 vintage. — 9 years ago

Needed a full hour in the decanter before it really began to show up, but could have used several more for sure. Rich, textured and with with quite racy acidity for 2009, showing squeezed lemons, yellow apple, ripe pear, spices and crushed oyster shells. Great purity and energy for the vintage as well that leads to a long intense and mineral infused finish. — 3 years ago
