It's not everyday that I drink a 15 years old rosé. That is also in a good shape with potential to age for more years. Old school style, complex and interesting bouquet of caramel, marzipan, apricot, blood orange and fig with some cooked notes. In a blind tasting (sniffing?) I would assume that it has some relation to Madeira wine, but then you taste it and it's bone dry and not fortified. And the acidity is high. Overall, I love this wine and it was a cherry on a cake. — 4 years ago

The 2015 vintage. Great wine, strong and persistent and concentrated. The true spirit of Garnacha! — 5 years ago
We loved this one - blackberry and a hint of cherry — 6 years ago
One if the best wine on the planet? It should for many. We were completely astounded! An very unique cabernet franc. — 3 years ago
At first it was a bit harsh around the edges, very acid driven and with very young, lively tannins. After a while it settled down and is much more approachable and enjoyable.
Blackberry, licorice on the nose. The palate is made of very strong and dynamic acid drive, a nice big bold blackberry juice is complementing the acid drive with a bit of width but a rather thin matter on the sides. In mid palate come some tannins that create a drying effect before a very long fruity finish with that dryed layer on top. Not bad! — 4 years ago
It is #FridayCabernetfix time. Here is a gorgeous one from Napa Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a wide red/ brick rim. A very pretty color.
On the nose blueberries, black currants, spices, cedar, cooked cherries, black licorice, vanilla, tobacco, green pepper, pencil lead, earth, herbs, light vegetables, dark chocolates, dark coffee and peppercorn. Very nice complexity on the nose.
Medium plus in body and soft, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, wood, light vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, chocolates, earth, light vegetables, bitter herbs and graphite.
Long finish with fine tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel. Nicely balanced with a tangy and spicy finish.
Not your typical Napa Cabernet, which is nice to see. Showing lots of fruit and earth notes, that make it very interesting.
This 8 year-old from the great 2012 vintage is drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.
Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and blossom. I had a little taste right out of the bottle, and let it be for 90 minutes. When I came back, what a big difference on the nose, especially, so be patient for that lovely nose.
This is a wine to savor. I loved smelling on it for a long time.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Great with the Brie cheese.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

It is time for a delicious Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Deep purple/ Inky in color with a short purple rim.
Big strong nose with blueberries, blackberries, black cherries, licorice, cedar, light vanilla, spices, raisins, chocolates, dried figs, light alcohol and peppercorn.
Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with cooked cherries, cedar, espresso, vanilla, spices, cola, herbs, beef jerky, tar, peppercorn pencil lead, dark chocolates and tobacco leaf.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a gorgeous Merlot based blend from Napa Valley.
Good right out of the bottle and better after an hour of airtime.
Tasty and concentrated. Rich and powerful, and not for the faint of hearts.
This young Bordeaux blend is already fabulous, will be so much better in 10 years, and will age nicely in the next 15 years. Would be nice to revisit it again in 5 years.
A blend of 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet sauvignon. A small production of only 300 cases.
14.9% alcohol by volume.

Nice nose of black currants, plums, strawberries, sweet cherries, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, cinnamon, eucalyptus and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, black currants, wood, licorice, light vanilla, chocolates, beef jerky, spices, dark coffee, pencil lead, earth, light vegetables, tobacco and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a great GSM Blend from Paso Robles. Showing great complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Needs 3 hours to open up properly, but good after an hour of airtime. Tannins show up after 2 hours in the decanter.
This 15 years old is good by itself or with food. Feels more like a 10 to 15 year old, good quality, Right Bank Bordeaux.

Really enjoyed smelling on it for a while. Delicious and tasty.
Thank you Scott for sharing this with me.

Reading the reviews, this appears to be a somewhat divisive wine. But I come down squarely in the fan camp, delicious and surprising. Profound aroma. Not quite at the level of Terroir AlLimit, but about $125 cheaper at Bar Isabel and a fine substitute. — 7 years ago

Reminds me of a young BV George’s Latour cab. Brilliant deep fruit with a tinge of earth, lovely bouquet and full body. But this one sells for nine dollars at Costco as opposed to 125 for the BV. — 2 years ago
