Finally a drinkable Primitivo.
With vibrant acidity, balancing the dark sweet plums. Balanced, vibrant, juicy, avoiding the jammines, cloying sweetness and cooked chocolates fruit.

Delightful. Good minerality and citrus, with nice acidity. Hard to think of a better wine with seafood — 4 years ago
Pop and pour yesterday. Lovely Gavi. Sea salt and cotton candy florals on the nose. On the palate: excellent acidity and density, lovely salt and lemon notes and a clean finish. Unfussy and yumny. — 5 years ago

Look, I work in agriculture, a farming, family, but damn farmer wine is good. I have not had any farmer or co-op wine in a long time that just meets the threshold of wow for this one. I mean just the color is beautiful clear Ruby and Claret with no obscuring whatsoever. This is not something we’re gonna be like oh a dissect the flavors for 30 minutes. It is good, solid amazing wine with clarity of color, absolute focus of flavor in beautiful concentration of the grape and the expression of the land and the spices, and a perfect balance of the acidity structure they’re in. I wish I would’ve bought more of this. — 5 months ago
Love the smooth but heavy fruit taste. — 2 years ago
Very nice Primitivo from Puglia. Smooth, medium bodied. Nicely aged at 6 years. Pairs very well with Southern Italian food. Drank inMay 2023. — 3 years ago
All I wanted to drink all night with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella & pizza. Lots of wet earth/upturned soil/underbrush stuff (pastures, orchards, woodlands) happening on the nose. Rich balsamic/tomato paste/umami mid-palate. Baked / dried / brandied cherry finish. Soft tannins. Acid has mellowed out a bit but is still ⚡️ — 4 years ago

Minty, tight, herbal. Limited fruit but not yet into complicated secondary flavours. Tannins not as integrated as I would have expected. Frankly, a bit disappointed. Maybe it’s just not in the right place this year. One of my favourite wine producers and this didn’t live up to expectations. Still have 5 more bottles, will try again in a year or two. UPDATE: Well, didn’t finish the bottle last night (rare occurred) and the last 2 glasses sat in the carafe overnight. Wine is much more open and floral today. Really thought an hour and a half in the decanter last night would have been enough. Obviously not. Softer and more round today, and more complex secondary flavors present. Tannins still not integrated enough, though. — 3 months ago
