Very mature intense primitivo wine, aged in oak for 7 year — 8 months ago
An excellent big wine. Leather, dark cherry and claypot on nose. Acidic and big tannins. Tobacco, tar and black cherry with a long finish. Excellent! — 9 months ago
Absolute banger. A go-to Gavi. — 4 years ago
Puts on weight with air. Gobs of plum jam and cherry pie. Balanced and elegant even with the 15% alc. Blind tasters guessed Cerasuolo and Super Tuscan. — 5 years ago
Greenbrier Prime 44 West — 5 years ago
Nice bouquet of violet, subtle spice. Cherry, herbal and earthy. Liked it better on the second day. Touch hot on the first. — 4 months ago
Another strong vintage of this consistently excellent wine. Medium ruby color (slightly opaque) with just a slight brick edge. Pronounced aromas of violets, eucalyptus, wet soil and ripe red berries. Red cherry, raspberry and wild berry fruit drive the palate along with hints of white pepper and Asian spices. Beautifully balanced. Bright acidity and firm (yet refined) tannins. Complex and focused. Always a pleasure to drink. — 6 months ago
Fantastic experience for a great single vineyard Nebbiolo. Developed and in its prime. — 9 months ago
Pop and pour yesterday. Lovely Gavi. Sea salt and cotton candy florals on the nose. On the palate: excellent acidity and density, lovely salt and lemon notes and a clean finish. Unfussy and yumny. — 3 years ago
Perfect on Tiramisù! — 6 years ago
Tasted a bit restrained at first, decanted in a travel bottle. Really started to open at dinner about a hour later and seemed to continue to open throughout the meal. It showed cherries, other fruits some dried and slight bit of tar. The finish was long and smooth to the end. Out to dinner with a group of wine friends so very busy and a lot of wines to taste but this one stood out to me. At Anthony’s in HH — 5 months ago
From magnum . Little darker ruby than the asili , slightly narrower garnet , terracotta rim . Darker quite ripe fruits , more medicinal , touch of tar and mineral length . Slightly more rustic tannin , good fresh acidity . Slightly darker anis tinged finish with good length. Quite austere and really young , needs time to open . Quite rustic , a bit of a brute ! Better in 5 years and will last a further 5-10. — 7 months ago
Light and easy drinking, nice fruity flavors — 9 months ago
Mid Ruby in colour. Aromas of menthol. On the palate again, virtually no fruit at 15 years - ultra savoury with sandy, tarry, fine powdery, yet persistent tannins. This was a great match with Roast Lamb for Mother’s Day in Australia. No. 3086 of 10,000 bottles. Jancis’s tasting note back in 2012 said “this would make a great introduction to mature Nebbiolo “. — 4 years ago

My last bottle from ‘16. Almost at peak perfection but what do I know- other than one of my favorite Nebbiolos. Always a bit shy but the bottle age & air brings all those rose, hibiscus & cranberry notes to a fuller pitch. Such great aromatics too. — 4 months ago
