Still alive. Smokey and structured, must be the 100% new French oak with heavy toast.

This is kind of fun. I love pulling a bottle I bought from premier cru. I still have a few of them left. Even though I lost a few bucks in the ponzi scheme it wasn’t much. The upside is drinking a gorgeous bottle of wine I paid 19 bucks for 15 years ago!! Still very fresh with beautiful cdp notes of pepper and ripe fruit. Very well done! — 6 years ago
This is a real treat! — 7 years ago
Amazing dry white that has limited production in the U.S. Thus varietal hails from the Piedmont region originally. Ponzi planted a plot back in 1990 and each year it produces this amazing wine. Peach, almonds. Some pear on the nose. Lovely aperitif or with appetizers. Small production so if you can find it...get it! — 7 years ago

This is the Vigneto II Pinot. Sufi Vineyard. One of the best Pinots we have ever had! — 4 years ago
Great wine but be aware that it’s still very young. Not a typical Ponzi single vineyard Chardonnay, it’s still strong, greasy, reductive aroma and flavors are reminiscent of many a modern Cote de Beaune. Powerful, complex, detailed, earthy. Decant and aerate if drinking now but better still to cellar at least another 5 years. I’m projecting it will age gracefully for 25 years or more. — 6 years ago
It was still very good. Drank it with Riley and Kristen in Chi. — 8 years ago

A good find from the cellar — 5 years ago
Very nice Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley. Oak was present but not overwhelming and brought nice spice and sweetness to the fruit. The wine was clinically clean - certainly no funk, but maybe just a touch too “straight down the middle”. I quibble, as this was definitely a lovely Pinot. — 5 years ago
Smooth, easy to drink. Great with pasta with hot Italian sausage in a red sauce. — 6 years ago
Wonderful with pan seared cod. — 7 years ago
This is superb. Ponzi wine, labelled for Jean Georges (after his wife).

Sipping Fine Wine
Medium Ruby with fresh ripe berry fruit flavors with earthy floral spice notes, aged for 11 months in French oak (26% new). On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tea, herb and citrus adding some floral notes. Fine tannins on long finish ending with fruit and slight earthy character. Good now, will benefit from short-term aging. — 4 years ago
