Second time having this, but a different vintage. Full bodied. The colour is purple... electric. Very big. Needs some time to mellow out. — 5 years ago
At first, this wine seemed slightly over the hill. Not sure if it was pairing with food, some aeration or the alcohol (in my head) that let this wine blossom in the glass. This wine sings after 30 minutes. Somewhat soft and round with lots of structure and backbone making a for a great balanced wine. — 6 years ago

Smoke and earth, good fruit and little tannins. Delicious! — 2 years ago
Pink peppercorn, unexpectedly heavy for rose. Leaving expectations? Lovely with shrimp and duck salad. I’m happy I stocked up — 3 years ago
Right and little it soured. — 6 years ago
Balance is on point, but less complexity that I hoped for. — 6 years ago
Smooth and luscious. Earthy, mushroomy on the nose and tannic. Some acidy on the finish. Pleasant, improves with breathing- 1 hr. — 6 years ago
Ripe cherries, leather, crushed chalk, wet forest floor full of fall leaves. Very light and smooth. — 8 years ago
Moores. 2016. $18. Very good year after year. — 8 years ago
Great Sangiovese for a good price. Fruity but not sweet. Well balanced and easy to drink. — 2 years ago
Intense and bold. Pepper and oak. — 3 years ago
Dry but not oaky (fermented in steel). Matched with Bianca pizza from pizza Solario. — 5 years ago
Great chianti classico. A Leather and a plum - they form a harmonious combination. Maybe the tannins are too strong for my taste, but it's no problem. — 6 years ago
CC Gran Selezione. Needs a full day’s aeration to move from high-toned to full-on freight train of raspberry, sage, summer savory and saddle shop. Tremendous grip and length; superfine tannins. Superior. #poggioalsole #casasilia #chianticlassico #granselezione — 7 years ago
So rich and gravelly, finely textured finish with lots of mocha, coffee, graphite, rose petals — 8 years ago
Poggio al Tufo is a relatively new estate in the once swampy Maremma in coastal Tuscany. Tommasi, of Amarone fame planted vineyards here in 1997. The Alicante Bouschet grape is new to Tuscany, although getting more popular. This wine is a deep purple in the glass , delivering pepper, black fruits and smoke to the palate. Tannins are still a little harsh so this will benefit from another year or two in the bottle. Interesting wine from this interesting grape.

Vermentino is very reliable. Lemons, grass, tart gooseberries, herbs, white tea with a creamy texture and salty finish. — 2 years ago
