What a consistent build Mark has fashioned with his CF. His delicate approach creates a very aromatic and feminine style – beautiful on the nose and lively on the palate. Wonderful acidity and juicy mouth becomes very poetic and sensual with you lighter fare. — 7 years ago
It's a very poetic nebbiolo. — 8 years ago
My man Dollars timed the split bottle to perfection. This one got fight, heart, and poetic sensibilities. — 9 years ago
This is the Cuvée Clos Prieur Bas. @Andrew Schirmer says Roty's wines have "rustic purity". I thinks that's poetic and correct. This ones certainly out performs a "village wine". My only quibble is PVR. — 10 years ago

1999 Sine Qua Non “Ox” Pinot Noir from the wonderful Shea Vineyard in Yamhill County, Oregon. 14% alcohol. I’ve always loved the simple label on this gigantic bottle with the cavernous punt. And I was all ready to wax poetic about the romance of opening one of these older SQNs as, based on a couple of recent tastings, I was told that this bottle is well over the hill. Well, that just ain’t so. At least not with this bottle which has been lovingly stored since release. Now I’m not going to try and convince you that the “Ox” is at its peak, but the old girl still has some tricks up her sleeve. Crystal clear, bright, medium garnet appearance. A little bricky on the edges. Smokey notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, truffles and clove on the nose. Quite vibrant palate of sweet strawberries and cola as well as spice box with a hint of vanilla, toast and that clove. A touch earthy. Nice acidity. Super silky mouthfeel. Short, but decent smokey finish with a bite reminiscent of Sweet Tarts candy. Tangy! Extremely enjoyable! Well made is well made. Chapeau Mr. Krankl! — 8 years ago

This a really nice wine! I drink each vintage and it's fairly consistent. I paired this Vermentino with an angel hair pasta, bathed in an infused truffle cream and mushroom sauce. All of a sudden my humble California abode felt like I was in Sardinia, Italia! Wine can do that! Isn't that why we love it? BEST with food, warm weather and friendships. Waxing poetic is easy after a few glasses of this beauty. And it's a value play! — 9 years ago
There are these moments in recorded music where something gets reissued today from like the 70s or 80s on a crisp new vinyl press. Nobody's seen the original because it's so damn rare. And the recording just fucking bumps so hard and the soul of the music is so deep, from the ages when synths and sample banks were too far off to care about. Ya, this. This is the one. Don't be afraid to drink this today. You will be rewarded with soul. It will be difficult to return to trap hats and people with no talent feeding you meaningless poetic dribble. And my apologies to Amass, we put you up against this. Unfortunately this wine won in the end by a long shot and the 30 chefs in your kitchen were all slain by 3 generations of farmers working side by side. — 9 years ago

Nice pair with steaks on a Tuesday night while @Philip Carpenter was waxing poetic on the virtues or Santa Barbara County during a Twitter wine chat. Join in to #WineStudio next Tuesday at 6pm PST to connect with Dan Kessler of Kessler-Haak and with Mr Tercero himself, Larry Schaffer, at the same time on Feb 23rd. — 10 years ago
In poetic prose, Terry Thiese’s review says nothing beyond this wine being “deeper than terroir.” Not a tangible note or descriptor. Indeed, it is so layered, multidimensional, constantly in motion with intersections of aromas, flavors, textures, and tone. Perhaps the best we can do is capture a snapshot of this spectacular Riesling Auslese in motion.
It’s beautifully expressive and exceedingly generous. A pale hay color and more reserved aromatically compared to the explosive flavor profile. Nose of spiced pineapple, bruised apple, and smokey fumey petrol. Full bodied, well balanced high acid that loses battle to dark buckwheat honeyed notes.
The finish lasts forever. Not satisfying. Not even a little bit. — 7 years ago

If this wine could sing it would fill the air with a brooding, heavy, bass-driven melody with a tenor backing that sneaks in and takes over to finish. Heavy at first, leathery and dark forest, it gradually opens into a more bright and fruit forward drink with red cherry and rich exotic spices. Much more poetic than this description. — 7 years ago
Peppery, poetic and elegant. A rainy night in thick socks by the fireplace. — 8 years ago
Not as poetic as other vintages — 8 years ago
Nice minerality and citrus notes that ride bright acidity (poetic note/ cliche mode). Good stuff and starting to round. — 9 years ago
Sincerely hard to believe this wine came from Washington. Deep and complex, it reminds me of classic Burgundy. It has notes of earth, soil, decaying underbrush, Asian spices, and dark berries. This wines aroma is beautiful and poetic. Simply stunning and a must try. — 10 years ago
Waxing poetic while we anticipate the release of the STUNNING 2014 Sauvignon Blanc. The 2012 isn't as crisp as its little sister, it's more..... Exotic, experienced, well aged. The tiniest touch of French oak shows, and accentuates the lush notes of peach & apple. Full disclosure: I'm biased, I love Philippe Melka, I love Oakville, I work here. 🙌🏻 — 10 years ago

The myths are real. A bottle, a label, a glass of burgundian juice. A wine with a bouquet so big, bold, complex yet so small and subtile. Elegance extravaganza. Suggestive and poetic and so beautiful at the moment. Maybe a little more matured than expected, Dont wait for it, drink it IF you ever get the chance.
