Not sure anyone thinks to age Dolcetto but perhaps we should. This was very good - had the color and elegance of an old Nebbiolo. A great find in the basement of Ladue Market. — 8 years ago
Delicious... no big raisin component, but not anaerobic like the Conterno. This is nice balanced Barolo. — 8 years ago
Definitely in its prime. Renewing my faith in zachy's auction bottles after that last aldo conterno — 10 years ago
Modern style. Needs another 5 years. — 5 years ago
Yummy and lengthy and smooth. Brought by a friend to our sat evening quiche dinner! — 6 years ago
Was much better than the previous bottle I had- cedar, black cherry. — 7 years ago
Musty nose on pop but after a decant and swirl the violets kick in and the bouquet delivers a whiff of truffle as well. Classic Barolo tar on entry, massive red fruit, rose petal and fig. A bit grainy and less vibrant than I’m used to from Giacomo Conterno. Good, not great length. A serious Barolo. More substantial than flashy. My preference runs to the Aldo Conterno wines but these are perhaps more “traditional” and worthy of contemplation. — 7 years ago

Really strong Barolo from 2004. Nice red fruit on the nose and palate. Smooth but with a great acidity. Served with porterhouse, roasted mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. — 8 years ago
A very young but approachable Barbaresco. No oak in sight but I do feel rotofermentors. Reminded me of Aldo Conterno a little. — 10 years ago

Lovely fully mature Barolo. The 85s are often on the decline, and this one may not be at peak, but wonderful balance, clear fruit, with a shorter finish than I recall from earlier bottles. 1 of 3 from a very nice dinner last night. — 4 years ago
