Parsonage Village Vineyard

Domaine Roulot

Meursault Chardonnay 2020

Tasted blind nailed Meursault! (2019 village from high quality producer to be exact). 2020 village Roulot Meursault needs time to flesh out and a good decant but it’s a killer village wine to no surprise from the master JMR. — 8 months ago

Moussé Fils

Les Vignes de Mon Village Blanc de Meuniers Champagne Pinot Meunier

Pale bronze with effusive perlage and creaminess. The nose is simply gorgeous with red and green apples and almonds. Freshly toasted brioche bread with a dollop of cinnamon butter. Greenery and fresh red fruits. Stunning. I could just smell this for so long but I suppose I should taste it as well.

Pure Meunier from Cuisles. Disgorged in October of 2021 with no dosage. Terrific balance and structure here, as is the norm for all Moussé champagnes. From a perpetual reserve of wines that makes such a huge difference. The depth here is atypical.

Electric in the mouth. Great length. Minerality and purity on the tongue. A bit of citrus on first taste. Then the spice and fruit come in to play. Whenever I taste this I always think it’s my favorite Moussé champagne. And that’s saying a lot.

Very pretty and floral, with some slight earthiness below. More open than expected. Essence of Chambolle and excellent village wine. — 9 years ago

Ravines Wine Cellars

Keuka Village White Blend 2016

Friday night random whites...
Fresh, clean and refreshing, light White peach notes. Nose is attractive, but a little too cold on first taste, so slightly closed initially.
Off-dry blend of NY's Finger Lakes region Cayuga & Vignoles, nose is really opening up nicely with some air and warming of the wine in the glass. Not overly complex, but this is a solid buy for the $10/$13 (wine club/retail) price.

Domaine Leroy

Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015

Previous 2 bottles have had evidence of Brett. The Brett more noticeable on the nose than the palate. Still very drinkable - remember, it is Leroy. The following night the Brett much less noticeable. More savoury than fruit driven - a lovely texture and mouthfeel. All in all a good Village Bourgogne if not overpriced. — 3 years ago

Dark ruby color with aromas of cherry, raspberry, and licorice. Ripe red fruits on the palate with good acidity, fine grained tannins, and good length. A very nice village level bottling. $120. — 8 years ago

Tenuta Sette Ponti

Crognolo Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2011

My last 2011 bottle. The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past the village of San Giustino Valdarno. Crognolo, aged in French Allier barriques, deep red with red fruit aromas and sweet perfumed spice. On the palate raspberry and cherry flavors, gentle spice and soft tannins with great mouthfeel. Good balance, lingering finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Aged well. — 8 years ago
