Absolutely amazing Barolo. Oh my. Been a while since I had suck a lovely Italian Barolo that impressed me. Plums, dark cherries and licorice. — 7 months ago
Golden yellow in colour and nicely aromatic with dried herbs, summer meadow, hints of chamomile, plus some ripe yellow peach in the background. Rich yet salty, fresh & quite savoury.
Medium bodied on the palate, beautifully balanced with ripe peach countered by salty minerality and dried herbs.
This has quite some character so works very nicely with food (risotto milanese!!) less so for sipping solo.

Light and fruity taste. A dryer but we’ll balanced white. — 4 years ago
Very nice but for some reason not quite singing at the same level of the last bottle we had of this earlier this year. I do suggest a 2+ hour decant. Lots of cherry and a bit of dark cherry. Quite balanced with great freshness. Long finish. Tannins are a bit chunky at this point, but still a great wine with a fatty steak. — 5 years ago
4-5 hour decant at first thought barely opened this quality Barolo but in glass we got some preview of its future majestic state. Initially utterly sealed on the nose. Very strong tannins still need integration & the perfumed rose & Black fruits were coaxed out by much glass swirling. So not complete infanticide but kinda close. Still fascinating though to glimpse the inner power of a developing Barolo — 5 years ago
2023 vintage in January 2025 good with smoked salmon — 6 months ago
pear, citrus, must. Dare I say a little peppery? Very full bodied. Probably would have been better 6 months ago when I bought it. Oops. — 6 months ago
Citrus forward with notable viscosity in a way so many skin contact wines could only dream of. — 9 months ago
Love it! Juicy AF. Minerally. Good with spicy shakshouka. I'd keep a bottle of this on hand all the time. — 2 years ago
Pdx wine import. Loved! Crisp and clean. — 4 years ago
Crisp, clean with mild acidity. The regular la scolca is really good, but this is better. — 5 years ago
