Dark tary cassis, blueberries, stewed plums, black raspberries, dry floral bouquet, herbs, milk & dark chocolate, coffee grounds and underbrush on the nose. The fruits melt in your mouth upon entry. The fruits are full and round. Blackberries, dark cherries, blueberries, dry plum and ripe slightly juicy raspberries. There is a strong sense of dark barrel toast as I taste a fair amount of sawdust & baking spices. This couldn't have been in bottle very long. Mocha power & milk chocolate follow. Then, herbs dominated by sage, dry coffee grounds, dry dusty brown soil with crushed volcanic rocks, graphite, leather, dry florals. Tannins are still chewy. It's such a baby. This wine has all makings of a cult Cabernet. It's has great structure, length balance and nice acidly. However, It shouldn't be opened for 10+ years. Its so young, It's hard to score this wine higher than 95 but certainly has the all makings of a 95+. Sodhani's winemaker is Thomas River Brown has made 8x 100 point wines in his career. He's made wine for; Outpost, Turley, Schrader, Maybach, Aston Estate, Vieux-Os & Double Diamond. It's certainly worth keeping an on this very young estate. 2013 was their first vintage. Notes from a Coravin tasting.

Very smooth and drinkable. Not at all bitter. The beer bottle shape implies drinking without cream. — 11 years ago

One word. INSANE! I've heard all about Haber from @Shawn R and @Martin G Rivard and I'm more than pleased to say that their recommendations are totally spot on! Tonight was the Taste of Howell Mountain event in Dallas and the line-up was absurd. Aloft, Adamvs, Lamborn, Dunn, Outpost, O'Shaughnessy and many other rock stars. After tasting through many '13s and '14s, the '14 Haber Howell Mountain was the Wine of the night without a doubt. His '13 was great and when he said his '14 was excellent I thought it couldn't surpass it...it most definitely did. Buy this stuff up! The nose is out of this world...smoked meats, caramel, candied almonds. Jackpot! — 9 years ago

07' Pott Wine St. Ralph The Liar White Cottage Ranch(Howell MT).The color is dark purple with very vibrant violet edges. You could absolutely pop & pour this. It's certainly got considerably better with a 2 hour decanting!
Don't think this is WEIRD. It reminds me of a combination of Dunn/Outpost !?! Lots of polished black fruits. Along with some muscle & elegance.
It's drinking window is now. Drink over the next 15/20 years! Edit... Could possibly be 96+ ! — 10 years ago

Surprisingly good! I really like this wine. Taste great. — 11 years ago

Black as midnight. So dark that you are afraid to spill any of it because it will stain more than grape Kool-Aid! As you swirl it in your glass, the high viscosity makes it seem like it is actually staining the glass. This is powerful stuff! Mending Wall is a great collaboration with Outpost owners (Frank and Kathy Dotzler), vineyard owners (Mark Pulido and Donna Walker) and bringing in spectacular winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. This petite sirah comes from the Palisades Vineyard in Calistoga (considered one of the best). In just two sips, your tongue will be as purple as a Chow puppy's. Deep dark currant flavors and a long lingering finish. Come to the dark side and get your hands on this soon. They sell out very quickly. — 9 years ago
Delia Viader is making wonderful Bordeaux style wines up on Howell Mountain (which is quickly becoming my favorite region...Dunn, ADAMVS, Arkenstone, Outpost...what's not to love?). She is a great inspiration to us all, and as you taste her wines, you can taste the brilliant acidity, firm tanins and the fruit is a early season strawberry and cassis. — 9 years ago
Chiarello wine - went to the "crusher," Outpost, and discovered it there before going to Bottega for our dinner! Well balanced. Develops a slight cherry flavor as the wine sits in the glass. — 10 years ago
Lemon melon chalk mineral and spice. Now ready for my favorite nyc outpost O'lar — 11 years ago
Opened to compare with 2005 Outpost Howell Mtn where provenance was thought to be an issue; confirmed. Goosecross with typical Howell Mtn profile and still lively and vibrant. Nice acid and tannins in check. — 11 years ago

Best wine of the night in a blind tasting 😀🍷 tasted against 2012 Outpost Howell Mountain.. The O'shaughnessy was more open and ready to drink... outpost, although excellent, needs more aging! — 8 years ago
