Very well made. Opulent without being OTT. Tannins are still primal, which is a good sign. Oak is upfront, but not monstrous. Cherry reduction and cassis complete what is a muscular presentation. It’s pricey, and only sold in a 3 pack. Well worth sending out a search party for...

When “Let’s have a glass” turns into “Let’s have a glass of each”. This turned in another WOTN performance. Quick 1 hr decant and she was off to the races. Charcoal, melted licorice and dried flowers waft up from the glass. Waves of dark berries, spices, cacao, and crushed rocks keep on coming. Gorgeous finish. Awesome complexity, showcasing the exceptional quality of this vineyard and the amazing skills of TRB. Happy 5th anniversary to Beverly and @Arvind Sodhani! Looking forward to many more vintages to come!!!

Continues to evolve with air. Sublime nose of tight berries and espresso. Drum-tight on the palate, with good linearity and focus. Prominent tannins that are not yet integrated. This is going to sail on, beautifully.

Oh my word. Depth. Precision. A solid core of fruit shines through. @Joe Lucca let me raid his cellar, and here we are 🙂

On the nose; purple flowers, ruby fruits of; blackberries, black raspberries, blueberries, dark cherries & plum. Marvelously, soft, baking spices, caramel, mocha, violets, lavender, soft volcanic minerals, crushed dry rocks, understated spices and dark moist soils. The palate is full. Still showing firm tannins. This wine is not for people who don’t hold their wines as it’s a 10 year plus cellar. Ripe fruits of; blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, boysenberries and creamy raspberry. Crushed dry rocks, cinnamon, clove, vanilla, dark spices, new leather, cedar, graphite, fresh violets & lavender. It’s still showing; big structure, tension & length. The finish is very good, balanced and fine polish. Look forward to having this wine again in 10 years. Photos of their vineyard, grapes and Owners Beverly & Ardin Sodhani. Thank you Beverly for all your time and hosting such a great afternoon of tasting.

My belated birthday, and amongst other things, my wife gave me cleavage.
We love the wine - no notes required.

@Paul Treadway Huntington Beacher A special treat from my buddy Paul!! What an incredible winery this is. Beverly Sodhani personally contacted me to make sure that I received his gift correctly and to see if I had the chance of tasting any of the bottles. I told her that I was laying them down based on Paul’s recommendation but he was referring to the 13 which is a beast in need of taming! The 14 was very much approachable now. 90% Cab and 10% Merlot. Gorgeous dark fruit with a touch of spice nicely integrated. I thought it had a richness and smoothness to it well within 2 hours of being decanted. I picked up some graphite minerality which I really, really dig and almost a touch of maybe cocoa on the finish?
This was definitely the WOTN and deserves to be called Badass in a Glass! !!!
In addition., I love wineries whom have owners that are so passionately involved and can’t wait for you to try the fruit of their labor. Sodhani is now on my radar and will definitely be a Winery that I’ll visit the next time we are in Napa!!!
Thanks Paul!!

Dark tary cassis, blueberries, stewed plums, black raspberries, dry floral bouquet, herbs, milk & dark chocolate, coffee grounds and underbrush on the nose. The fruits melt in your mouth upon entry. The fruits are full and round. Blackberries, dark cherries, blueberries, dry plum and ripe slightly juicy raspberries. There is a strong sense of dark barrel toast as I taste a fair amount of sawdust & baking spices. This couldn't have been in bottle very long. Mocha power & milk chocolate follow. Then, herbs dominated by sage, dry coffee grounds, dry dusty brown soil with crushed volcanic rocks, graphite, leather, dry florals. Tannins are still chewy. It's such a baby. This wine has all makings of a cult Cabernet. It's has great structure, length balance and nice acidly. However, It shouldn't be opened for 10+ years. Its so young, It's hard to score this wine higher than 95 but certainly has the all makings of a 95+. Sodhani's winemaker is Thomas River Brown has made 8x 100 point wines in his career. He's made wine for; Outpost, Turley, Schrader, Maybach, Aston Estate, Vieux-Os & Double Diamond. It's certainly worth keeping an on this very young estate. 2013 was their first vintage. Notes from a Coravin tasting.
