Juicy fruit tones of raspberry, pomegranate and cherry with subtle spice tones and hints of dried orange peel. Has a richness and opulence that is rare for this wine. Bright red fruit and citrus tones. Certainly reflects the low yields and ripeness of the vintage. — 7 years ago
Fantastic stuff! Will dive in further to the Boxler name. Acidity and opulence are dueling for my attention. — 8 years ago
Fuck yes! This is so delicious. Nose is dripping with sweet grapefruit, key lime, mango skin, peach, creme brûlée, lees, toast and citrus blossoms. Palate is very complex. Juicy ripe citrus, stone, and tropical fruit up front, moving to crushed rocks, verbena, seamless oak. There's considerable grip, phenolic character and loads of extract. The mid-palate weight and length are insane. Lots of ripping acid driving the wine. Reminds me of Dagueneau but with more flare and opulence. — 8 years ago

I have been down on Grenache of late, and this one started in the same way that has troubled me, but after 2 hours open it has shed some of the fat, retaining the opulence and a good line of freshness and tannin on the finish. Make no mistake, this is high in abv, but carries it well. The nose is a little raisen, with creme d'cassis, huge. The palate is big too but carries the weight well, the flavor is levels better than the nose. #janasse #grenache — 10 years ago
2012: 80% Roussanne. Quite opulent, floral, sweet, stone fruit apricot and peach. Vanilla. 65-70 year old Roussanne vines. Very creamy, almost ice-cream, vanilla, stone fruit, lovely opulence and good balanced acidity. Good length, complex and long. — 10 years ago

A textbook performance balancing precision with opulence. — 12 years ago
This was beyond lovely. As a cabfranc fan, this drank incredibly well. This blend has a richness to it. It has enough age to have well defined tannin structure yet enough acidity to go for years to come. Opulence comes to mind. Look forward to my next go around with this one — 6 years ago
The Baumard family growing the noble Chenin at Rochefort in the Anjou for centuries, in 1953 they acquired a vineyard in the Quarts de Chaume, & in 1968, purchased acreage in Savennieres. Straw with full fruit and light spice aromas. On the palate ripe apple, pear & melon, complex, with vivid acidity. Lingering, ending with mineral and sweet honey character. Wow. A white that should age well.

Medium body, medium dark, medium malt, light yeast, light hop - perfect balance — 9 years ago
For those of you who are interested in unbridaled opulence, the Nativ 'Eremo San Quirico' Aglianico Irpinia Campi Taurasini 2010 might be the wine for you. The nose fairly explodes with roasted cherries, plums, milk chocolate and vanilla, topped by a whiff of smoke and spice. There is some heft and power here, but it's almost entirely subdued by the more hedonistic elements of this Italian bombshell. Sultry overtones of figs, blackberries, and surprisingly, creme de menthe followed by cracked black pepper. — 10 years ago
usually I'm not a big fan of F, but I must admit that this magnum was simply phenomenal, the opulence from the wood so well integrated with the millions, crunchy, precious bubbles.. — 11 years ago
Elegant opulence. What a wine! — 11 years ago
Tasting 2011 Burgs. P Colin's Les Chenevottes has beautiful nose that delivers lovely floral, mineral and rich opulence. — 11 years ago
The 'Parvata' is a fantastic blend of 46% Mourvedre, 34% Syrah and 20% Grenache all sourced from the Force Majeure Vineyard on Red Mountain. I love the deep aromatics to this wine, ranging from smoked duck to roasted date to chocolate torte. The palate is exceedingly plush and decadent, showing a touch of opulence. Asian spice, pipe tobacco, blackberry cordial and milk chocolate fudge flavors all combine marvelously and build in the glass. Despite the serious weight of the wine there is a lovely touch of acidity that provides ample backbone. Generous and downright delicious, enjoy this fantastic red blend over the next decade or so. Have not tasted this since August in Germany. Always nice to taste these 5-6 months later stateside. Never gets old. Clean and precise nose. Green vegetables. But sweet fresh and ripe vegetables. Not “green.” Intriguing minerality and a faint hint of vineyard peach fruit. Palate is crisp and clean with wonderful balance and juiciness. Very complex and mineral. Really finishes mineral. There is some opulence in the midpalate but it’s firmly mineral and electric throughout. Long finish. Serious structure as well and this can and will age for 10-12 years. — 8 years ago
@Matt Courtney is a great friend so no score. But this 2014 is a deal ringer for PYCM added a bit more opulence of CA. Flinty, noble sulfides , warm cinnamon pear tart, spearmint, hints of barrel toast. Always a pleasure to drink!!! Great wine Matt. Get on this list before it's too late. Don't say I didn't tell you. — 8 years ago
Bière brune qui titre à 9.2. Mousse abondante, et petit arrière goût de caramel boisé. Pour moi, une de mes brunes favorites — 10 years ago
2008. Very good. Tart and firm acidity. Very old school style. Not overripe opulence of today's style. — 10 years ago
#bdx10 Showing the intensity and opulence this vintage has in spades. Showing the smoky charcoal the Graves is known for, this is tight but with tome opens up quite nicely. Nicely balanced, give it an hour minimum to decant. — 12 years ago

Nose has some smoke ... on the verge of old Riesling nose. Palate has that dense restrained Riesling thing. All in a bed of classy rocks and pure pure Lemon. Finish is a mountain stream if a million sweet lemons were juiced on the top of a mountain.
Finish is this crazy succulence. Just a balance of mineral citrus dense opulence. Makes me so happy.
