Second red wine we tried from Cadle Family Wines. Darkest purplish ruby red of the lineup. Beautifully layered nose, with an onslaught of baking spices (cinnamon and caramel) that leads into some savory undertones (gamey and light dirty cellar). Light body that builds up as it opens up to a moderate plus body. Some light greenery, plums and red cherries on the palate. Cherries carry throughout the body. Lots of acidity, definitely needs some time to balance out. Dry and very long finish. Definitely the bigger of the wines tasted from Cadle Family Wines, needs some more bottle age and this will be a beauty. Drink till 2024. — 10 years ago
Bright and juicy with the nimbleness of a ballerina. Nice light warm up for the palette and the onslaught of juice about to occur.☝🏼️ — 11 years ago
Shame on me for being impatient (worried about the vintage) and opening several bottles way early. This has come around. A potpourri of aromas with "forest" being most dominant. On the palate an onslaught of red and blue fruit , earth , cassis and minerals. Tannins that caress rather than punch. Big Pinot at its best. — 11 years ago
Garnet red. Truly an interesting nose. An onslaught of bell peppers and jalapeños, some light asparagus too. Day one on the palate was all vegetal with some light red fruits. Very interesting and we love interesting. Day two added in some savory and mineral notes like rocks. Also had a hint of darker fruits and some powdery element, similar to talc powder or even raw cocoa. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and medium body. Dry moderate finish at best. Drink till 2022. — 10 years ago
You can taste the soil, the iron, A pleasant onslaught of tannin that mellows out on the finish. Fruit a little locked down but this is gonna be a great wine. — 11 years ago
And now an onslaught of Grower champagne — 11 years ago
First time we are doing a detailed note on one of the wines from Tim Mondavi's Continuum Estate. Garnet red with a deep and dark core. Very warm nose with some baking spices, soft dark fruits (like mulberry and plums) and some dark cocoa. Silky texture and beautifully extracted with some powerful moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) holding through. Fruit forward attack with an onslaught of dark fruits. Layers of baking spices, cinnamon and a little vanilla. Full bodied with some forest floor undertones. Just melts on your tongue with a long and lingering finish. Very well integrated and balanced. Drink till 2024. — 10 years ago
Madagascar vanilla and allspice aromatics, rounded out body with a prickly and almost effervescent acidity. Cranberry, red apple cleanliness, onslaught of berries complex the profile with a classy oak finish that has a crisp dryness to it. Solid Pinot! 👍🏻 — 11 years ago
Incredible. An onslaught of flavors; from dried cherry and craisins to potpourri, salumi and gun smoke. While soft and elegant, such a masculine wine. Wanted it to last forever. — 12 years ago
