Wine color is starting to show the browning edges of oxidation but still has that robust purple garnet hue. Aroma is complex betraying the heavy alcohol with a spicy hint of heat. But carried with all that is the peppery, tobacco, plummy cherry notes of the grape. Drinks magnificently. Loads of jammy fruit without a heavy sweetness. Definitely leans towards a medium body with a nice sour cherry acidity to round its finish. Oak is present but only to support never to stand out in front. — 8 days ago

Medium light garnet , quite wide terracotta rim . Top shoulder ullage . Slightly herbal , old mahogany, hickory , chestnut, minty , dried fruits with sous bois underneath, hoisin . On the palate this has some sweet red fruits , touch of coffee , old wood , earthy , meaty hints . Good acidity and slightly grippy tannins . Not bad length. This bottle shows surprisingly well considering its state , and is very drinkable . Drink now , as this deteriorated quite quickly once in the glass — 7 days ago

Decant for sediment (lots of chunky/fine sediment) and pour. A stunning medium ruby red color with little signs of aging. On the nose: big inviting notes of dark fruit/currants, worn leather, herbaceous, smoked meat, funky earth, menthol. Taste: silky, evolved, expressive structure with brambly plum, currants, old leather, dark chocolate, graphite, and a black raspberry-iron-dried herb long finish. YUM!
