Ode to E Assortment Syrah Grenache Blend 2004

This is one of the sexiest thing you can ever taste in your glass.
So fresh and young. The alcohol and the concentration are super integrated, making it so drinkable and extremely pleasant. Would love@to try this in 20+ year from now.

Stein California Grenache

Dense boysenberry in color: nose of blackcurrant, spice and a little licorice; lovely texture of fully ripe fruit that’s bright with just enough supporting tannin. SQN always so solid. — 2 years ago

The Thrill of Stamp Collecting Syrah 2009

Blind tasting. Correctly identified as Syrah of 10-15 yrs. Was confused since not California fruit bomb but definitely high alcohol so neither Rhône. Pleasantly surprised for my first Sine Qua Non Red — 2 years ago

The Dirt Worshipper Central Coast Syrah Blend 2014

Central coast Syrah at it’s best! (okay, I’ve never had sin qua non so I don’t know if that is really true) Tart berry pie, herbs, tobacco. Lush and dense! — 3 years ago

Premium Non Vintage Rosé Blend

A very energetic mouthful, somehow ripe and pulling it own weight (with acidic towing equipment) so you don’t feel the weight but you know it has a body, like me in an empire waist dress. Zingy ripe raspberry makes friends with preserved lemon while white toast and white pepper duel it out as to who is the loudest (but not the whitest we know the toast wins that). Really a delicious steal from Tasmania. — a month ago

Atlantis Fe2O3-1a Syrah 2005

A sublime pour from FLX Table. The ripe red and black fruit and sweet oak are perfectly integrated but both pure in their own right. Silky texture, vibrant, concentrated, and long. I’m not normally a fan of Syrah so this blew my mind 🤯🤩🤯 — 2 years ago

Poker Face Syrah 2004

Syrah on another logical level. A pure barnstormer. Never tasted a Syrah like this before! Very atypical for the varietal. Perfectly weighted, and so compact. Sandalwood interplay’s with dark chocolate, blueberries and cinnamon.

This was a treat said the least. I’ve been blessed enough to have had this a few times. One of if not my favorite SQN of all time. Thank you again for bringing it @Bill Bender

It’s so so. Don’t love the after taste—something I’ve noticed with cheap cava. — 10 months ago

Mr. K The Straw Man Beckman Vineyard Marsanne 2006

My dessert wine for my annual CC hosting.

I’ve only had a handful of SQN dessert wines, as well as Kracher wines, so I was curious how this would show with 16yrs on it.

Almost amber colored in the glass. 100% marsanne. Honeyed peach and orange marmalade aromatics with sweet baking spices too. Decadent and viscous crème brûlée, orange roasted cashews, and toffee notes that while sweet, doesn’t come across as too sweet or intense. Not zippy, but not flabby either. No rush here. An absolute treat to enjoy.

Shining so bright in the glass. Lovely orange marmalade nose. Lithe on the mid palate, with roasted chestnuts and brioche. A touch of salinity brings up the rear. Special, but an acquired taste in my mind. — 3 years ago
