I loved this Washington cab. It pours a dark rust red. The fruit is full with cherries and raspberries. The finish is short and not notable. But besides that I thought it was outstanding. This is beyond just a daily drinker. It accompanied the prime New York steak we had with it very well. On sale at Pavilions it was a steal for $10. — 6 years ago
Not my type of wine anymore, but it’s a well made wine, a very good representation of new world California Cab. — 7 years ago
New wine for me while in Washington State visiting. A nice surprise bold just the way I like it. — 8 years ago
My new favourite BC winery. The 2015 Cab is also outstanding! — 8 years ago
Always looking for new high-acid, Uniaked whites for summer... crisp, clean, med-weight...less than 200 cases.. perfect paring with grilled salmon and pickled blueberry sauce. Nice stoney/salty attack.. with a long, mineral finish. — 9 years ago
Dark reddish purple. Inviting nose and medium-bodied palate of red berries, pomegranate, and a hint of toasted nuts on the moderate finish. Medium tannins. Medium acidity. A most typical example of mid-range Washington. The midpoint between New World fruit (but dark fruit) and Old World structure makes for an excellent American food wine. Pair with anything from burgers to roots to prime rib. Just do so by 2027. — 5 years ago
Founded in 1996 with 76 acres in Yakima Valley. 100% Cab Sauv aged in 100% new French oak. Dark Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, oak, spice and some flinty notes. On the palate blackberry, currants and blueberry flavors with toasty notes and bits of cacao. Firm tannins, nicely balanced with generous acidity, long finish ending with a dark fruit mineral character. Nice! Will age for 10+ years! Tasting Sample! — 6 years ago

A real stunner from Maggie Hedges. Fantastic structure, tannins. One of those wines that stands athwart Old World structure and New World profile. Inky purple, classic Cabernet nose of cedar, tannins. 2014 a bit young, just starting to integrate. Beautiful structure and finish. Silky without being cloying. Food-friendly. Happy 4th! 🍷🍷💥💥 — 8 years ago

These grapes handled the 26 months in new French oak well. A sweet tobacco note on the nose. Great tannin structure on the palate with a great mix of dark fruit, vanilla, and earthy characteristics that leave you searching for descriptors. — 9 years ago

A Bordeaux blend. Spends 22 months in 70% new 400 liter oak barrels. Nose of fragrant floral fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum. Licorice, anise, dark chocolate and fresh, dark florals. The fruits are ripe and fresh and match the nose. Black licorice, tarry notes, loamy soils, moist dark soil, lead pencil, cedar, tobacco, underbrush, great acidity and a beautiful long finish. The structure is better as is the tension and length. This bottle needs 8-10 years in bottle for a higher score but for many hard not to dry young. Photos of the view from the Long Shadows patio, another one of the glass blown floor lamps and a concrete fermentation egg...interestingly in an inverted shape I hadn't seen before, no real difference in effect. — 9 years ago
New vintage. Bright acidity and melon fruit — 6 years ago
Light golden in color.
Strong nose of lemons, citrus, yellow apples, light oak, spices, black pepper and light vanilla.
Full bodied and buttery with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with limes, grapefruits, citrus, red apples, melons, pears, herbs, vegetables, earth, wood, spices, vanilla and white pepper.
Nice finish with spices and almonds.
This is a very nice, slightly aged, Oaky Chardonnay from Washington State. Showing a nice mouthfeel with mild complexity. Rich, yet refreshing. Feels like a Napa Chardonnay.

This 5 year old is good by itself or with food, and better nicely chilled. Would be interesting to see how it evolves in the next 3 years.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
100% Chardonnay grapes were aged in French oak barrels (34% new) for 10 months.
14.5 % alcohol by volume.

And here we have it... our new favourite BC red. The colour is dark Burgundy, almost black. The aroma fills the nose with dark freshly ripe fruits and hints of black liquorice. On the palate, first notes are composed of freshly ripe dark plums, blackcurrant, with flavours of dark raisin and cassis. The dark fruity notes are followed by hints of vanilla, and mild mulled cooking spices and anise. It’s a big and bold dark fruit wine that is elegantly integrated with silky, royal tannins. Every sip makes you pause and appreciate its strength. If you find this you must buy it, or come to Oliver BC. — 7 years ago

A new label update from Matthews — 8 years ago
Rich crimson with a dark core. Not typical Cabernet descriptors as regards Bordeaux and The high quality areas in Australia. On the palate Black fruits like black berry and currant. Good Cabernet structure still with superb supple tannins. The fruit and oak typically intergrated. Bottom line delicious in a new world way. I think this Wine might have been a 💯 pointer from Parker. After about 2 hours the perfume had magnified into gorgeous aromas with the palate maintaining those silky smooth tannins. Very impressive. — 9 years ago

Popped and poured, consumed over three days with very little evolution over that period but if I had to make a call, I would say best on Day 3. It presents a turbid, deep ruby in the glass. On the nose, purple flowers, dried leaf tobacco, tomato leaf, and freshly tilled earth. On the palate, currants, tart blackberries, kalamata olive brine, dried blood...it’s saline, sanguine and ferrous in a real way. The 2012 Champoux Vineyard is a structured, high acid/high tannin Bordeaux blend of predominately Cabernet Franc with some Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for good measure. Long, long finish. A very earthy and mineral driven wine. Blind, there is no way I would call this New World. This bottle is yet another reminder why I truly believe Andrew Will makes some of the very greatest wines in Washington State. This has at least another decade of life left in it. — 5 years ago
