Special barrel selection for Market of Choice stores - Cuvée Etienne
Aromas of orange pekoe tea, amaro, light funky earth, and pipe tobacco
On the palate, there's a touch of graham, "natural" but clean, dark dusty cherry, light menthol. Finishes a bit short, but it's still a baby. Let's revisit in 5(?) years. — 4 years ago
Raspberry, sorrel, ruby red, sorrel, thick raspberry jam, sorrel, acidic wet bite, light tannin — 5 years ago

Greatest single grain I’ve personally sampled. Rich texture, glowing nose of complex citrus, brown sugar, bay and rosemary, lemon peel, and sweet tobacco. Unctuous mouthfeel over-delivers the purest scotch imaginable. Smooth with heat returning spasmically. Sherry in full effect, and depth of whiskey paramount. — 6 years ago
Upfront, powerful, high-pitched red and dark fruit. Black pepper and sweet balsamic and kindof a umami thing. The vigneron James Erskine is part of a group of winemakers in McLaren Vale who consider themselves more like a jazz band called "Natural Selection Theory". Whole cluster funky dudes who sound like endearing Dads hanging out in the garage. — 8 years ago
Selection natural. I want a case — 4 years ago

Got this a year ago as part of a natural wine club selection and am revisiting this gem. Pale red. Maraschino cherries and black pepper aroma. Natural but not too funky. Juicy red fruit and tart cherry. Light with well-integrated tannins, and SO drinkable. Amazing deal. — 5 years ago
Wonderful Sicilian natural wine! Deep gold (let’s call it light orange) in color. Hints of grilled lemons with a hint of smoke. Beautifully “funky.” A true winner! Great with appetizers! Thank you Franky Bella for this selection. — 8 years ago

Selection natural. So good!! Summer wine — 4 years ago
Another great bottle from Selection Massale. Smooth, refined, biodynamic, all natural Lagrein made in a medieval castle. What more could you ask for.
Not as rustic or as harsh as a lot of Lagrein. Only had one case and customers loved it. — 4 years ago
The 2017 Sassicaia shows the natural richness and intensity of the year while retaining its mid-weight sense of balance and overall poise. A burst of super-ripe red cherry/plum fruit makes a strong opening statement. Mocha, cinnamon, leather and dried herbs appear later, adding aromatic lift. The 2017 is a fairly immediate Sassicaia. Even so, it has enough energy to drink well for a number of years. Production is down 35%, a combination of naturally low yields, dehydration on the vine and then selection in the cellar. Most of the fruit comes from the estate’ hillside vineyards, older parcels that resisted the conditions better. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

Star bright straw gold. Yellow apples and underripe pineapple in the nose. Medium body and the aforementioned fruit plus some brown stone on the palate. Medium plus acidity and a medium finish. Probably the best dry Riesling out there right now, and it’s not from Germany (though it *is* the Germanic part of Italy)! A natural with fish and other seafood, poultry, pork, or light to medium vegetarian dishes. Drink now through 2023. — 6 years ago
Somm friend said it was bonkers good and that all her natural-wine friends were head-over-heels for this selection. Really juicy red fruit, almost effervescent. Def tastes like a natural wine--maybe some carbonic.

Opens on the nose with the smell of lees, underneath are early summer red 🍒 and a touch of balsamic and a touch of wood- maybe slovanian oak?
Tart, nice balance, refreshing and very drinkable. I was nervous to order it because it was listed under the 'Natural' wine selection but turns out that it's only organic and not bottle of kombucha. Excited to see that I might be able to find this for under $25.
Paid $54 at Commune in Columbus. — 3 years ago
