Crisp. Full-bodied. Floral nose. Peaches & pears in the palette. Dry finish. — 7 years ago
Crowd-pleaser. Dark, yet easy drinking. — 8 years ago
Fading perhaps, but an elegant downside. The tar is subdued now and only apparent on the nose. The roses are everywhere and reflected even in the bricked color. The remaining fruit is high toned and elegant, with fig, olive, and bloody steak notes. Makes me think back to long lunches in a country Italian farm cafe. Nothing to do but eat, drink, and laugh. — 8 years ago
v14. Very enjoyable. Opaque color. Smokey, meaty nose. Juicy black cherry fruit. Earthy, black pepper, cola, chocolate finish. Nicely balanced. Note: awesome Smokey nose upon opening. — 4 years ago
Founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni, and now managed and owned by Sebastiano Cossia Castiglionii. Blend of sangiovese, merlot and cabernet, from organic grapes, lovely nose of fruit, floral and spice. On the palate cherry and plum flavors with earthy herb notes, touch of spicy cacao. Fine tannins, good balance, medium finish ending with earthy character. Nice value. — 7 years ago

Heady spice & amazing fruit. — 4 years ago
A magnificent Pinot from the Santa Rita Hills. Matthias casts his magic and the results are phenomenal. I would swear this was a Syrah, but not a drop. A perfect melody of bright berry notes together with deep, dark fruit that’s almost savory. A bargain at any price. @Delectable Wine this is the Backseat Freestyle. — 4 years ago
Light gold in color with a green hue.
Pronounced nose of citrus, lemons, oak, vanilla, spices, grapefruits, pears and red apples.
Full bodied, buttery and smooth, with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with red apples, citrus, lemons, grapefruits, sea salt, white pepper, oak, vanilla and spices.
Medium plus on the finish with limes and almonds.
This is a very enjoyable California Chardonnay. Shows a very typical taste profile, with an above average quality and flavor.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, as it is not bitter. Nice length on the finish, which I liked.
This is a nice surprise. Enjoyable and gracious mouthfeel with nice complexity.
Better when not very cold to show the complexity.
I paired it with cheeses and nuts.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

Deep ruby color, pronounced primar aromas of ripe black fruits, secondary aromas of brown sugar, coffee and toffee. It has a fresh medium+ acidity, ripe soft tannins and high well integrated alcohol. Long finish. Can definitely age for 5-10 years. Truly #syrah the one way to recognize it's from #California is just a touch of sweetness and that alcohol, otherwise it would be very difficult to distinguish from any #worldclass #staritahills — 8 years ago
