The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles NW of the city of Arezzo past village of San Giustino Valdarno. A blend of 90% Sangiovese & 10% Merlot, aged in French Allier barriques. Deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and blossom spice. On the palate blackberry and cherry flavors, earthy spice and grainy tannins. Good balance lingering finish ending with some oak, earthy and mineral tones. — 4 years ago
2015 vintage at home. Super star effort on a village wine. Young vines, can’t wait to drink this when the vines are old. So difficult to get this domaine, so good and only six bottles. Can age considerably but is round, tasty, juicy tannins and good acidity with good aging potential. Fruit bomb but with perfect definition and elegance. What a waste of a life but Arnaud has taken over and did not miss a beat. — 7 years ago
Cherry cream, toffee, tobacco at first. Well rounded. After 15 minutes or so, sweet spices and wet forest leaves. — 7 years ago
The two big surprises of 2019 for me have both been Bourgogne AOCs; the first being Bachelet’s Rouge ‘15 and now PYCM’s Blanc ‘17. It is a beautifully captured handful of pale and sparkling sunlight - with billowing wafts of lemon peel and white peach. Obv depth is lacking compared to his village or GC, but still holds up very well with some really refreshing acidity and purity. — 5 years ago
Very pretty and floral, with some slight earthiness below. More open than expected. Essence of Chambolle and excellent village wine. — 7 years ago
Friday night random whites...
Fresh, clean and refreshing, light White peach notes. Nose is attractive, but a little too cold on first taste, so slightly closed initially.
Off-dry blend of NY's Finger Lakes region Cayuga & Vignoles, nose is really opening up nicely with some air and warming of the wine in the glass. Not overly complex, but this is a solid buy for the $10/$13 (wine club/retail) price. — 7 years ago
Nice spice on this. Medium to full. — 7 years ago
Crazy good village GC Burg! Best slightly chilled. Red fruit, smooth but muscular. With a distinct spice box on the finish and enough acidity to still be refreshing. — 7 years ago
On the nose: a touch of reduction to start that morphs into smoke, pure meyer lemon, lime, soft vanilla, and fantastic richness. On the palate, a touch of oaky bitterness, but excellent acidity, more meyer lemon, lime, loads of hi-toned mineral notes. Fnatastic density and good length. — 4 years ago
Doesn’t taste like village..outstanding energy and finish — 4 years ago
Enjoyed this bottle with friends three weeks ago. Moderately full bodied, and highly recommended — 5 years ago
Perfect village Chablis! — 6 years ago
Elegant. So so elegant. Ruby red, dark fruit, hint of violet, light clean finish. — 7 years ago
Always the best village white Burg. Still youthful. Layers of minerals, chalk, and tension continued to unfold. — 7 years ago

Elegant and balanced, mostly merlot with a dollop of cab franc. Crazy good at this price point. Enthusiastically recommended ! — 3 years ago
