Full body modern Rioja! Dark cherries... Beautiful! — 9 years ago
1990: First impression was Cabernet like, some olive and an abundance of fruit. Definitely in that tween phase. Had the 1985 recently, which proved the lie that modern wasn't also classic. However, this bottle of 1990 is still pretty primary, and brimming with fruit. So much so that the experience is confusing, recalling what the wine was on release (rich, hedonistic, delicious), and now, not mature - yet still awkward. Plenty of bright fruit to evolve into future maturity. — 10 years ago
Wow. Really impressive go at Basque cider from Shacksbury, which has quickly become one of my favorite cider producers in the US. Bone dry, great acid, perfect amount of volatile vinegar-y funk, with a great savory side. Delicious essence of tart, slightly bitter apple. I believe this is actually done in collaboration with a Basque producer using local apple varieties. Definitely captures a very similar character to what I expect from Basque cider. Great stuff. — 8 years ago

This is such a great brunello from Renieri, aged in the modern 50/50 style - very tasty drinking great now. — 10 years ago

This 2007 Rioja Alta is a blast. I have to admit that the nose was not very enticing. Nice, but nothing to write home about. But then, at the palate, it was a feast. Fresh herbs, with a black fruit, silky aftertaste. Rioja Alta’s magic craft at its finest. Tremendous value for money. — 8 years ago
A total steal at Albertsons right now. Only $13 but drinks like 2x the price — 9 years ago
Pajana is a single vineyard Barolo, rustic and tight at the beginning it opened up nicely after 24 hs. It lingers for a very long time and has all the great nebbiolo characteristics but If you are looking for a more modern - early approachable Barolo this is not your wine. A very interesting learning experience for anyone who is getting into the unique flavors of traditional Barolo — 9 years ago
Very good beer. Enough malt to balance the hops. Nice sweetness to aftertaste. Helping Chef Marlin test new menu items at The Perch. — 9 years ago

A modern style of Bordeaux but a monster from the right bank. I think they are using Roto fermentors.... Amazing juice and great depth... This wine has it all... Coffee mocha with earth tones in the back this wine was fabulous. — 10 years ago
