Stunner. The layers are pealing off this beauty. I'm a believer in Monforte.

Tasted with Domineco at the winery in Monforte. "Modern" style Barolo, but also one of the pioneers of the region. Riper year but an amazing wine. Dried tea, violets, plum

18/20 (95/100)

A great example of Clerico's trademark combination of ripe dark fruit and spice and brown sugar, and with a touch of florality, it is drinking very well now. It won't be mistaken for a traditional Barolo, but it has plenty of its own charms to offer and deserves to be appreciated for what it is more than for what it isn't.

Comes off subtly cologne-y -chalky - not my style. Must be missing something.

Gripping tannin with judicious but liberal oak use. Red fruit with lots more black berry presence as well. Finishes bright with fresh mint and tarragon.

This is NICE. Like you meet a person at a bar and slowly realize they are better educated, more experienced, and overall kinder than you. But you love them, and they are willing to humor you.

Elegant, floral nose. Still tannic and goes forever. Worth every penny
