Lemon, saline / structure, big bright acid / 18 mo sur lie — 7 years ago
Oh man. Gimme mo! Big, rich, savory as all hell but balanced by that deep pure fruit one expects from a name like Graillot. I love the purity Maxime gathers with increased de stemming, perhaps a longer soak?? Black olive, beef blood, venison, fur, smoke, plump black cherry and plum, smoke, melange of herbs; sage, tarragon, thyme. Licorice and violet too. Very gravelly mineral notes throughout. This will be so good in 5+ years but who can resist a 2015 thats this promising right now. — 7 years ago
One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.
Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!
So, to my friends, do you remember your first wine on here? Was it anything memorable? @philip Angino @Martin A. It's been about 17 mo. since our last bottle, and we're seeing some improvement.
Nose has warmed Granny Smith apple with butter.
Palate had serious zingy acidity to start, but since subsided, now a combo of yellow/green apple, water chestnut and a minerally honey.
We're seeing continued improvement as the decant time continues. — 7 years ago
All steel, 3 mo on the lees / citrus, orchard fruit, orange pith, green apple / cryomaceration pushes forward the fruitier side / — 7 years ago
Killer Fleurie, popped one about 4 mo. back, very good then, tonight even better. Six more bottles in hiding for at least 3-5+ years to settle some of the acidity, otherwise this is a perfect bottle. — 8 years ago
French night tonight.
Excellent second label from Angelus, from the 05 breakout vintage.
Lovely notes of jam compote, cinnamon and barrel toast. On the palette, notes of sweet tobacco, black raspberries and soy sauce. Outstanding texture with ripe tannins. For a second wine, we were blown away. Good luck trying to locate this on the open market.
Thanks @Mo Salem for bringing this gem! — 8 years ago
Visited Mo at his kitchen tasting room on his vineyard property this spring. What an experience and what a wine this is. 2013 Willamette at its very finest. Pinot, Pinot, Pinot. — 9 years ago
An amazing wine, and an amazing restaurant! — 9 years ago
Tried it chilled at the suggestion of the wine shop. Fruity. Refreshing. Interesting. Very different. — 6 years ago
Juice! The nose is passion fruit, peaches, and flowers, taste profile is refreshing—strawberries, cucumber, slightly underripe strawberry. Finish is a bit bready. — 7 years ago
Full bodied, rich, powerful / ripe pear, pineapple, apple / medium acid / 12 mo on the lees and some new oak / structured, lengthy finish — 7 years ago
Fantastic Cabernet. Balanced like most Italian cabs but with a bit of a nod to the body you would find in American style cabernets. Mo wonders why I didn't bring 2. — 8 years ago
Very dense ruby. Pronounced aroma. 1st nose of blackcurrant jam, wood followed by earth, spices, grass. Fresh & bit of flowers. Development w/ black fruits, pencil shavings & black lead. Blend: ~70% CabS. Vibrant rich full-bodied palate supporting the nose. Lively tannins, good acidity. Still looks young in 9 yrs age but can drink now. 2nd label of 2nd growth Château Ducru Beaucaillou from separate & distinct vineyard. Blended during 1st racking. Matured for 12 mo in 20-40% of new barriques. Rating 4,1/5 — 8 years ago
Gifted by Brian and Mo. Super dry, delicious — 9 years ago

13’Clendenen Family Vineyards. Le Bon Climat Pinot Noir.
Color - Pale Ruby
Palate- Fresh picked strawberries, a splash of spices & tobacco. Perfect amount of acidity, tannins are soft & approachable. Certainly one of the best PN’s I’ve had out of California in the last 12 mo.
Sensational bottle of wine. Recommended highly. — 5 years ago
