Green and full of funk. This bottle, while still recognizable as burgundy, never took flight or held an identity. — 6 years ago
A wild identity. Tamarind and flower and spice — 7 years ago
Surprinsgly good, fresh and elegant, with a good complexity, showing a mix of fresh and dried red fruit, the tell tale soubouis and mineral notes gives this wine its well deserved identity. A nice development in the glass. Good balance and structure. At five years of age the wine drinks very well and is not in need of any further aging — 8 years ago
Old world. Little bit of leather and tobacco and with some earthy funk to it. Once it opened up, lots of dark fruit and cola. Could have mistaken for Italian. — 9 years ago
Nose is beautiful. Heavy flor aromas carry unroasted cashews and almonds with just a hint of orange oil. Palate is light and fresh with an attack of orange oil, lightly roasted cashews and almonds and a big salty finish. A golden brown color that could be easily mistaken for Amontillado, but not surprising for en Rama. Definitely best with food, but delicious on its own. — 3 years ago

Found this one behind another one in storage. All I can say is....DAMN. This drinks like a Sangiovese that I paid 3x the amount for. Dense cedar and a little sweet blackberry. Smooth operator on the front and finish. A part of me is very sad this one was bought out by Kendall Jackson but I hope they kept their identity intact. Lilac and pepper finish. Immense. LOVED this wine. Almost gave it 95 but not quite there. I wish I had another case of this one! — 9 years ago

White flowers & brioche that could be mistaken for champagne. Cheers! — 4 years ago
On the nose this never going to get mistaken for anything but riesling. You get a hit of that petrol/plastic beachball smell as well as mossy rocks and lemon peel. Palate is off dry with honey drizzled lemon and very ripe pear. Nice medium acidity keeps the balance in check with a hint of those petrol notes.
A little sweeter than what I was expecting, but still a tasty, clean wine. — 5 years ago
Almost mistaken for Nebbiolo so tar and leather laced. Floral elements muted. Fruit is primary on the palate. — 8 years ago
Wow, loved this. Black/red fruits, raisinated, baked, fruits, no new oak, high booze, medium plus tannins and medium acid. Paired great with bbq chicken. I could have mistaken for amarone/ripasso, but this likely has more tannin. Well balanced. Need more! — 9 years ago
A reminder that these were all tasted blind and as it turned out the fabled Romanee Conti was first. My notes - Lovely sexy nose of violets. Ripe yet restrained - aristocratic. Minerally, savoury with an incredible long finish. Fine tannins but will blossom. Actually my least pointed wine in the 6 Vosne Romanee Grand Crus. I'm sure it would not have been had I known its identity! — 9 years ago

A Pinot Nero showing its age. Tawny edge - notes of wood varnish and stewed red fruits. A very balanced mellow palate with a gamey note. Just medium weight. Could be mistaken for a Burgundy in a blind tasting. — 3 years ago
