Brick House

Evelyn's Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir 2014

Brickhouse’s flagship Pinot, estate fruit, best barrels. Integrated tannin, cherry fruit, some savory forest notes, enjoyed over a several hours without food and the last glass was the best. Worth the wait, I dig it. — 10 months ago

Ceritas

Peter Martin Ray Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

One of my favorite cabs of the year. Higher acidity, lower ABV, and finer tannins for a very drinkable, elegant cab that isn’t overly ripe and juicy. — 4 years ago

Stack House

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

A very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco and herbs.

Bone dry on the palate, and full bodied with medium acidity.

Needs time to open up properly.
Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Wine Advocate 92 points.

Spicy and tangy finish with firm tannins.

14.2% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$43.

Ceritas

Peter Martin Ray Vineyard Chardonnay 2019

Nice wine, but a bit less full and interesting than I was hoping. Slightly thin and almost a bit watery. Still nice refinement and a decent finish. — 9 months ago

Have had the same “what am I missing” experience with Ceritas. Perhaps just drinking too young…or not?

@Tyler Felous I’m not sure. I’ve had other bottlings - both younger and older - that I quite enjoyed. But for the price the variability is disappointing.

Agreed. Waiting on some of their new Cabernet bottlings. Optimistic 🤞

Domaine Laroche

Saint Martin Chablis Chardonnay 2023

This is why they call it Oysterwater combining with fresh oysters at the sea in Cancale.

Merry Christmas Eve-Eve!!! 🎄🎁🎅❄️🌟⛄️

Maybe, it’s the Christmas spirit and/or I really needed a good glass Rosé Champagne tonight but, I don’t recall this ever tasting better. Could simply be a better disgorgement? Ah, I’ll just say it’s Christmas Magic! Cheers! 🍾🥂

Shots around the house listening to our Christmas Eve Mix.

Yup, that’s my Wine Snowman! ⛄️

Be pairing this later with the Shari’s Chocolate Covered Strawberries that arrived today.

Ribbon Ridge Gamay Noir

I usually tend toward Pinot Noir, but when I want something just a bit bolder, Gamay hits the spot. I have really been enjoying this 2015 vintage. — 7 years ago

Cuvée du Tonnelier Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir 2011

Really delicious Pinot. Burgundian style. Elegant. Cassis and muted earth. Amazing for the original price. This 2011 is long gone. Paid under $40 several years ago. Wish I had another. Hear my Dad saying in my head "Always buy two..." 😀 🍷 — 7 years ago

Select Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir 2022

Impressive, Cranberry, touch volatile acid, cherry, juicy, lots of tannins. This is really good and reminds me of the Burghs in the old old days before they did get stylized. Biodynamic, 13%. — 8 months ago

Happy Friday!

Been having a lot of Blanc Brut lately. Sooo good to get back to one of our favorite N/V Rosé Champagne’s.

Numerous, numerous notes stand.

Tonight; Blood orange, pink grapefruit covered in an ice cream creamsicle, volcanic, powdery chalkiness, sea fossils, pink roses, excellent acidity and balance, elegance and polish for days.

Photos of; amazing sunset shot of one of Billecart’s Grand Cru vineyards, two shots inside the House of Billecart and the grounds of Billecart.
