Cassis, raspberry, long finish, super interesting — 5 years ago
This is definitely an extra dry. The champagne starts dry and finishes dry. In between there is nice green apple. A very nice drinking champagne!!! — 5 years ago

Sounds yummy 😋Impossible de retrouver le terroir du jura, c'est très bourguignon et vraiment délicieux! On peut penser à un beau blanc de la côte châlonnaise. — 9 years ago

Has a beautiful ruby color!
Nice fragrance of dark cherry, raspberry, ripe berries and chocolate with a hint of spices.
Drinks nicely with soft tannins with a bit of pepper & spice and finishes with some dark berries on the palate. The more it breathes the smoother it becomes... — 5 years ago

Very nice surprise for such an old wine. — 7 years ago

— 9 years ago
Beautiful wine, decant before hand for the best nose. — 4 months ago
At Pressoir NYC burgh tasting - this 2009 from the magnum was best of the Volnays and best of the tasting overall - deep brooding structured fruit, stellar - and notably better than the 2008 — 7 months ago
A gift from our friend Steve L. a few years ago, which we drank on the occasion of our 19th anniversary. Nice “jammy” blackberry fruit flavor; dry and medium to full bodied. A 2018 vintage that we enjoyed during 2025. I would expect the wine is one that ages well. — 7 months ago
Had a couple of these “Blue Boys” in my cellar. Mollydooker (Aussie for left-hander) Wines was established in 2005 by Sarah and Sparky Marquis. Dark Ruby with big dark berry fruit nose adding sweet spice and cedar. On the palate this wine has complex flavors of blackberry and blueberry with cacao, oak and vanilla. Fine dusty tight tannins, peasant mouthfeel, full-bodied, long ending with a nice spicy finish. Aging well, good now, has room to run. — 5 years ago

It’s been a couple years since I last enjoyed the 1996 and based off this experience, it’s continuing to age gracefully.
Double decanted the night before. The wine pours a garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of cassis, kirsch, purple flowers, tobacco, dried herbs, green pepper, old wood and gravelly earthy. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long and sanguine. So much soul, it could make Marvin Gaye blush. Drink now with patience (and a long decant) through 2041. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 4 months ago
