Domaine du Pélican Arbois Poulsard

Out of a Magnum - light color even for a Poulsard but very aromatic earthy , mushroom, compost and cherry fruit in the background medium to medium plus acidity ( it’s hard not to think of Pinot Noir when you drink this )

Funkiness of Jura. Elegance of burgundy.

A tiny bit of funk on the finish but aside from that the pale red color was beautiful and was representative of the flavors. Light candied berries, tart cherry followed by a tiny bit of spice. Acidity still there too.

Light and lovely

Barnyard nose and great taste. Minimal tannins, not too acidic, and the combo of red berries and earthiness

Super light red color, super light red fruit taste and body. Delicious. Almost no tannins.

Reductive/eggy.

Entirely made from Puffeney's vineyards with a little guidance from the man himself, and just a little of The Godfather's 'character' shinning through.

This wine was all over the place. Maybe would've called it 8.8 on day 1...acidity was a bit harsh and the wine came across as thin and tart, rather than snappy and refreshing. Then 9.2 on day 2 when things softened up, the wine came into balance and some earthy aromatics showed. Trailed off by day 3.

Klar ljust röd färg. Doftar mosade lingon, tranbär och jordgubbar, och lite skogsgolv. Lätt och ganska silkig munkänsla. Mkt angenämt och rent poulsarduttryck men hyfsad längs som dock bör vinna i komplexitet på en del lagring.
