A wine of genuine remark. Barbera from old world vineyards in Pavia. A gorgeous pungent nose rightly suggests a little air once in the glass before tasting. The palette opens with lovely round dark blackberry and ripe currents contrasted with balanced leathery tannins. The finish dries out with an earthy, grassy finish. Wonderful with a hearty beef dish. Love this wine. — 8 years ago

Neuro reunion at 10/13/18. Excellent bubbles though not at level of that 2005! Was bought when visiting region with Marilyn Thor. — 7 years ago
Owned by Ren and Marilyn Harris who purchased Paradigm in 1976 and began producing wine with the 1991 vintage. Marilyn is a third generation grower in Napa Valley and Ren has been farming since the 1960’s. A blend of 98% Merlot & 2% Cab Sauvignon, aged for 20 months in French Oak. Dark Ruby with sweet black berry fruit aromas with notes of toasty oak. On the palate black cherry and blackberry flavors with pepper and vanilla oak spice on smooth fine tannins, nicely done. Lingering finish ending with toasty oak tones. — 8 years ago
Very impressed, a nice bottle of Bordeaux. Well balanced dark fruit with an oaky peppered finish. — 8 years ago
Clear medium ruby red in color. Nose is cherry and strawberry. More bright cherry and strawberry on the palate with a hint of Monterey minerality. Chewy tannin finish with medium acid lingering. Pretty straight forward and leaning toward the fruity side, this wine drinks young and fresh after six years. I wonder what another six would bring. — 8 years ago
Needs to warm up and get some air time, but when it does it's a wine of notable delicacy and purity. Lively nose of bright lemon-lime, underripe peach, and river stones. Soft and lacey textured, it's quite pure tasting and has a growing chalky minerality in the finish. Very good acidity. Have to remark on the color too, which is a really luminous light green/gold. Distinctive. — 9 years ago

I absolutely love this wine. It's a breath of fresh air after having so many big, voluptuous malbecs. Where an Argentinean style would be Marilyn Monroe, this is Audrey Hepburn. Lean, classy, light, objectively beautiful. And at only 11.5 ABV, so easy to sip. — 9 years ago
One of my favorites! — 7 years ago
Been away from Delectable for a while, still drinking wine, but took a break from writing about. When I had this Innisfree tonight, I thought I owed it to Joseph Phelps to remark about it. I wrote about this vintage 2 years ago, and this wine tonight is even better. It is right in its sweet spot, reflecting an openness on par with its maturity. 20 minutes in the glass, paired with a grilled NY Strip, it led the way for this meal. Strong nose of deep, dark fruit, a hint of licorice and leather, but a balanced finesse of dark chocolate and the slightest touch of earth. A couple of bottles of this vintage left, but no need to let it rest any longer. If you have ‘em, drink ’em - you won’t be disappointed, and you’ll taste the readiness of the wine. It’s why we let them rest until they are ready. — 8 years ago
Nice round fruit, gains herby finish with time in the glass. — 8 years ago
@Mike R @Carl Fischer @Ron R @Joe Lucca @David L Believe me when I say that it was an absolute toss up between the Beau Vigne Estate and the Morlet "Coeur de Vallee". The Beau Vigne Estate came in 2nd with the Width of a hair. It was Magnificent. Marilyn Monroe wasn't as full bodied as this beauty!! Enjoyed from a 1.5L and it was blew us away. A nose that enticed you to relish in it's opulence. Deep dark blue and black fruit. You could truly tell that drinking this one sip at a time was going to be a Hedonistic experience. It was beyond perfect in the Front, Mid and Back Palate. We found ourselves taking minutes between sips due to it's Marathon Length finish. Why 2nd place you may ask By the slightest of margins?? I think this may be a 100 point wine in a few years. without a doubt it is THAT GOOD!!
The Morlet wasn't as big and boisterous BUT it have the edge in regards to Balance and being well rounded at this time. The blind tasting reveals which wine is best now & not which will be best in the future. It was AWESOME to discuss these as the night went on!! — 9 years ago

This is pretty much everything I want Sangiovese to be. This was captivating immediately with spicy, smoky aromatics mixed with a spicy cherry palate of which all I could remark to myself was "alive". Wonderful power, and at an effortless weight which makes this complex, deep wine in danger of a quick disappearance as it is way too easy to drink. Amazing. — 9 years ago
