Fruity and well-balanced — 6 months ago
Drinking alongside the Sliver, the ‘21 Chalk Hill comes across as richer and more extracted, offering dense layers of blackcurrant, blackberry paste, dark chocolate, and roasted herbs. The palate is deep and mouth-coating, showing ample oak sweetness and firm tannins, but the concentration slightly outweighs its sense of balance. Power and ripeness dominate, giving a bold, muscular Bordeaux style expression. — 6 months ago
Smoothhhhhhh! — 9 months ago
Pretty tasty, a little bit sweeter than I expected but with nice tannins, a little bit of wood and smoke notes — 5 years ago
Back in CA attacking the cellar...not remembering where I acquired this but really enjoyed! Haven’t followed this winery for awhile but probably should. I don’t think I have any more of this. — 6 years ago

A very nice malbec blend recommended by Zack. — 8 years ago
Love is love is love is love... This spectacular blend of Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec is just stunning. When in a multiple wine tasting you wish you could stay with a wine, there is something really good about it. Memorable... — 10 years ago

Highly rated for a reason. It’s quite good. — 6 months ago
Deep ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Strong nose of black currants, plums, oak, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs, eucalyptus, light vegetables and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, spices, chocolates, oak, licorice, light cola, vegetables and peppercorn.
Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 8 year old Malbec based blend from the house of Cheval Blanc is starting to drink very nicely now. Feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux.
Soft, smooth and elegant. Rich and fruit forward. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Complex and interesting.
Needed 90 minutes in the decanter to open up properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.
A blend of 62% Malbec and 38% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in (50% new) French oak barrels for 15 months.
14% alcohol by volume.

A 6 region blend, deep Ruby with aromas of dark red fruits, spice and dried herbal and floral notes. On the palate flavors of blueberry and blackberry with licorice and pepper oak. Fine grainy tannins, lively acidity, medium(+) finish ending with fruit, subtle oak and savory spice. Nice! — 5 years ago
Husband had this tonight at a dinner party with world travelers and everyone agreed this was an amazing wine . Was expecting the price to be much higher. Very smooth. Will buy again . — 9 years ago
Bold and rich. Shouldn't have waited this long to drink it. — 10 years ago
Thoroughly enjoy this wine, as it opens up it develops into a reason to buy more. Leather, cassis, preserved jams, with a soft tannic structure. The finish plays and chews. Did I mention I found it for $13?!! — 10 years ago
So good! My favorite Malbec currently. — 12 years ago
