Vine Hill Vineyard Chardonnay 2017

Always a joy. started out a bit too cold, need to be patient and let it open up and warm up for best aroma and flavor. — a day ago

Murdoch Hill

Limited Release Blend Ridley Pinot x Three Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir Blend 2018

My last bottle but not with sorrow instead joy reminiscing on the journey of this wine.
Knowing that finally another bottling is just around the corner helps ease any stress about not having any pX3 in the cellar. Gorgeous wine.

This was tons of fun to try to pair, and to blend with!! What a joy to have this made and available so locally. — 5 years ago

Dickson

Troubadour Texas Hill Country Red Blend 2008

Like most of Dickson's wines, there's a little bit of VA (and it tends to become more pronounced the longer the wine sits open). However, other than the slight VA this was a real joy to drink. Totally unique and happy that someone is making wines of this caliber in Texas. — 8 years ago

Henschke

Hill of Grace Vineyard Shiraz 2008

Voted WOTN for good reason. This has been a bucket list wine for me. Some sections of this famous vineyard were planted in 1860 but all of the vines are ridiculously old. It’s bombastic and really stands out from the crowd. Very expressive both on the nose and on the palate. Full bodied and multi layered. Creamy and rich texture. Dark berries, plums, coffee, cigar, orange peel, eucalyptus, soy, cigar box and an array of oriental spices. Probably at a peak right now, such a joy to drink. — a year ago

Ventolaio

Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2003

This was a pleasant surprise. When first opened, there was a distinct prune aroma and flavor, so I was concerned it was over the hill and/or cooked, give me the vintage. But after 3+ hours of decanting it was beautiful. The prunes and age were gone, and just left dark dried fruits, plenty of acidity and tannins were still present, and made it a joy to drink. Not even a hint of browning on the rim of the color. — 4 years ago

Stony Hill

Napa Valley Chardonnay

What a joy to drink. Fresh no- but complex yes. Still has mild fruit aromatics with acidity that keeps you interested. Light gold color and a nice compact mouth feel and finish. A compliment to soup and light tapas. — 2 years ago

Chappellet

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2016

Had the ‘16 about a year ago, tried again. For more than 4 decades, the Chappellet family has been crafting wines from fruit cultivated on steep, rocky slopes of Napa’s Pritchard Hill. Aged 8 months on French oak, (33% new) in its lees. Aromas of ripe stone fruits, citrus, honey & oaky scents. On the palate layers of fruit, apple, lemon & peach with balanced acidity & gentle toasty oak. Long smooth finish ending with fruit and oak tones, a bit creamy. Very well done. A joy to drink. Still tasting great! — 4 years ago

Possibly undrinkable for the first twenty years of its life, this is simply stunning now. Reduction is still prominent but there are many layers of subtle fruit, firm structure and joy deep within this bottle. Beautiful bottle of Oregon Pinot — 7 years ago
