One of my favorite varietals from one of my love's favorite producers 😍 espresso, warm caramel, nutmeg and cloves on the nose. Palate is dense, ripe, and soooo California. Pale yellow. Flinty, firm, 'mineral' citrus oil, petrol. Bracing acid, slightly bitter/phenolic, feels very fresh for a 6 year old wine.

For an 8 year old Crianza, this is drinking very well. And such a value at only $13 (at Bevmo, no less)! Opens with mushroom and earth notes, but after about 15 minutes the raspberry and black cherry aromas and flavors were front and center. Some bay leaf, wet concrete, tobacco, and rosewater notes.
