SP68 Bianco Terre Siciliane Albanello Muscat of Alexandria 2017

Cloudy pale to mid gold in colour. A skins contact, white wine fermented in Clay Amphora in Sicily. Aromas of apricot, orange blossom and a little white pepper. On the palate a lot going on - full flavoured at only 12.0% alcohol and low acid - apricots and cumquat with the skins bitterness to finish off. Unique and an absolute mouthful of flavour. Can’t see any reason for cellaring it. — 7 years ago

815 California Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

I had the 2013 before, and thought it was good value. I enjoyed this one too, and it's still a good value, fruit is cherry and black cherry, with vanilla and wood, some earth, and a hint of cola. Acidity is moderate, and tannins are low to moderate. Good table wine. — 9 years ago

Morning Fog Livermore Valley Chardonnay 2016

This yellow-gold wine rings the “old-style Cali” bell in all the right ways. A nose of apricots, mangoes and apples is helped along with the smell of buttered popcorn. Oak treats the palate as well, draping over the tropical fruit like a sunshade. The acidity is zesty, yet the mouthfeel tends toward creaminess due to the wine sitting on the lees for five months. The oak is a definite part of the wine, but the effect is softened enough so that it's a pleasure, not a pain. — 7 years ago

Calistoga Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Loved this Sav Blanc. No acidity. Pear and subtle minerals -mellow-almost like a good Chardonnay. Drank it with the growers,Tom and Brenda; amongst the grapes on the hillside outside Calistoga. Just fabulous. — 10 years ago
