Caymus Vineyards

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Even with the 2014 vintage, I am supremely happy. Plum/blueberry maybe with some chocolate hints. A very soft finish and a little sweeter than many big cabs. Well done. — 9 years ago

Krupp Brothers

Veraison Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

A VERY BIG cab, on the nose I get a Bordeaux dustiness with a little Mexican vanilla, cassis, and faint cedar. The palate is very smooth with tons of dark fruit, vanilla, mouth coating. Initially the wine finished a little hot, after hour decant tannins started integrating and didn't have the heat. — 9 years ago

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Solid wine....cherries, oak, spice, a little cola taste as well. We needed a big wine to temper the chill in Miami tonight.... — 10 years ago

Cuttings California Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2012

TPW Co is doing great things and has rapidly become a favorite of mine. Looks can be deceiving. This dark inky blend is NOT Big or Bold. Soft and fruity with a little tobacco. Great raspberry/velvet finish. — 10 years ago

Scarecrow

Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Planned on taking a day off of wine, but after a weekend of old tired wines I had to open something new & big,
3 hours in, a little more medium bodied than I expected. I'll give it a couple more hours.
Even after 4 1/2 hours nose still had quite a bit of alcohol, trying not to let the name & pedigree influence my rating. Definitely not an early drinker, I'll wait several years before I open another one.

Château Nairac

Barsac-Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2009

Beautufal Barsac - nose of citrusy-honey and pollen. Orange rind at the core of a soft, big, candied and round package. Just a little stickiness that will integrate with time. Thanks, Cam! — 10 years ago

The Prisoner Wine Company

The Prisoner Napa Valley Zinfandel Blend

Decided now would be a good time to try out out the 2013 Prisoner. While not as good as the 2011 the structure is different, showing a ton of black pepper and balsamic on the nose with a little bit of violet flowers, and a very lovely, elegant finish. Big bold red and black fruits give way to a lush, black peppery back end. The finish is shorter than expected but still nice. This is still a good wine, just not as good as previous vintages. — 11 years ago

Darioush

Signature Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Darioush does such a great job with their consistency of product. Always know what you are going to get when you pop a cork. A big bold Napa Cabernet Sauvignon with a little black pepper tinge. Balanced and wonderful with a filet mignon. — 9 years ago
