A favorite winery of mine... This one needs a little more bottle age, or a splash decant... A muted nose opened to crisp honeycomb apple, ginger root, and a toasty brioche character. Feels like bit of lees influence too. Round, layered, and soft on the palate with yellow apple, pear and melon rind. Bright acidity shines on the mid-palate with a limestone crouch to the finish. Hold this for a few more years. — 7 years ago

Chosen from the wine list in advance and decanted 1 hour before serving. It’s beautifully textured with great lift, purity and balanced acidity representing the vintage well. It’s not the most deep or structured of vintages, it’s more about elegance than power. Ripe black and blue fruit, liquid stones, violets, spice and black pepper. Caresses the palate with a long, focused and vibrant finish. — 6 years ago

Oh heck. I wish I had more. I don't know Aussie wine but don't think that would make a big diff in how to interpret this oner. It is an individual and a nice one at that.
It is smooth and merlot Berry then POW there are your Gewurtztraminer spices and whoa. Despite my hatred of the color of yellow I can dig it. Yowza. — 10 years ago
Nice mineral nose, dry, strawberry finish, great acid — 11 years ago
The 2011 is not ready so there on the 2012 in June. Gorgeous deep fruit, 10 was a hot year. Deep sweet cherry. Post ferment max station gives more savoury notes. Hint of green, herbaceous note. Minerally, earthy. Wowzers. Textured, complete, powerful. earthy, smoky, probably the best PN in Marlborough. Meaty, animal length. Wow! — 11 years ago
Aromas of anise, leather and cedar. Loads of black fruit and firm tannins. Glad I have 4 more bottles of this. — 12 years ago
Excellent Riesling! Great flavors!! — 13 years ago
Of course the 2014 Chaillot is in its early stages (although it is considered to be an early maturing and approachable vintage for Northern Rhône), but a multi-hour pre-dinner decant served it well as it was very open, giving and multidimensional showing great depth, power and an elegant backbone. Black raspberries, liquid stones, violets and a hint of black olive. There is a great midpalate richness leading to a long, finessed and lifted finish. — 6 years ago
Easy to drink. Nice acidity. Little limestoney. Keep buying. — 7 years ago
