Chaillot Cornas Syrah

Pretty good wine for an electrician.

Of course the 2014 Chaillot is in its early stages (although it is considered to be an early maturing and approachable vintage for Northern Rhône), but a multi-hour pre-dinner decant served it well as it was very open, giving and multidimensional showing great depth, power and an elegant backbone. Black raspberries, liquid stones, violets and a hint of black olive. There is a great midpalate richness leading to a long, finessed and lifted finish.

Leaner profile than some vintages earlier in decade. Arguably more classic.

Another beautiful wine from Allemand. Already vibrant, but grippy enough to age for a good, long while.

This was finessed with perfumed aromas of black cherry, berry fruits, iron, licorice, mineral, olive & fresh cut flowers. Always a treat!

Another great wine from the master showing balance with power & finesse, elegance, floral that will only get better in the next 20 yrs but so good now showing a perfumed nose of dark cherry, berry fruit, licorice, spice, violet, mineral & tobacco.

Red & black fruits, perfumed aromas that is silky & finessed with crushed rock, graphite, spice, hints of black pepper, olive & violet.

I’d drink it again.
